Fallout 76 10 Things To Do After Launching A Nuke

Fallout 76 allows players to fire nukes at places, and the resulting Blast Zone hosts a plethora of fun activities for scavenging survivors afterward. Whether you launched the Nuke yourself or someone else did, there are several unique activities to enjoy in the Blast Zone. This 'Blast Zone Fallout' mode changes all plants, creatures, and even environmental effects throughout the area. But be prepared. Everything gets a lot more challenging to deal with. Obviously, it's important to remember to stay out of the Blast Zone until the missile lands. You'd be surprised how many players are accidentally incinerated. But after the epic explosion, it's open season; dozens of people on the server will flood in to take advantage of blast fallout features. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Stop And Smell The Nuclear Roses

There will be a lot of chaos in the Blast Zone immediately after a nuclear missile detonates, but one of the most overlooked things to do is to stop and smell the (nuked) roses. Seriously. Several plants native to Appalachia will transform in the Fallout. They'll become much more brightly-colored, sometimes glow in the dark, and yield different types of Flux. Stabilized Flux of different colors is actually critical for advanced . Look for Raw Cobalt Flux, Raw Crimson Flux, Raw Yellowcake Flux, Raw Fluorescent Flux, and Raw Violet Flux from this nuked flora.

Find A Fissure Site

Most people like to place their Nukes in the southeast section of Cranberry Bog. This also happens to be the location of multiple Fissure Sites. When adventuring through the Blast Zone, players who get close to one of these sites are likely to find a Scorchbeast. Or even multiple Scorchbeasts. Too weak to take it down alone? By engaging this massive creature in the middle of a Blast Zone, other high-level players are likely to be nearby and will jump in for assistance (and for a share in the loot). Fissure Sites, especially in nuclear fallout mode, are great sources of Ultracite. Most veteran wastelanders know how rare of a material this is, and how critical it is for the crafting of .

Join A Public Event

Since most players decide to detonate their Nuke over the Prime Fissure Site in Cranberry Bog, this will begin . Dozens of high-level players will flock to this area to take advantage of the awesome loot. So get ready for some chaos. Luckily, players will be too busy fighting off the hordes of mutated enemies to even think about attacking each other. And the shared loot is worth the effort; players can expect at least two Treasury Notes, a new Plan or two, special ammunition, important supplies, and a three-star legendary item upon defeating the Scorchbeast Queen.

Murder Mayhem

When entering the Blast Zone, immediately kill everything in sight. Except maybe other players...that'll make them mad. This isn't entirely senseless violence; once an area is transformed via nuclear fallout mode, all creatures large, small, violent, and friendly will yield additional resources. Specifically, defeated enemies will yield Hardened Masses, Ionized Meat, and possibly Irradiated Blood. These items are very useful for crafting stabilized Flux, which in turn allows players to create and modify advanced weapons and armor. Camp near a Fissure Site, mow down waves of Scorched, and reap the benefits.

Raid Nearby Locations

Since killing hordes of enemies will provide players with valuable resources in a Blast Zone, it's smart to visit nearby map markers that are guaranteed to be occupied. All creatures get transformed after the Nuke lands and this includes already-placed location enemies. But be careful. Those three or four Glowing Ones hanging out at Whitespring Resort can turn into dozens post-launch. Another advantage of looting nearby houses, bunkers, etc. in nuclear fallout mode is that they're always full of supplies! Water and chems will run out fast when trying to survive the Blast Zone. So it's helpful to be able to re-stock without ..

Team Up

Thanks to the Wastelanders update, Bethesda has finally made it But players should cooperate in the Blast Zone regardless of team perk boosts. Why? Because surviving in the Nuke fallout alone is pretty dang hard. All enemies' levels increase, the radiation is brutal, and, if you're particularly unlucky, you'll encounter multiple Scorchbeasts. Even if not part of a team, it won't be difficult to find some friends. High-level players tend to flock to a Blast Zone like Boatflies to a pile of garbage. And there are so many enemies in the area that people probably won't mind a little help.

Stock Up On Chems

Okay, this one should be obvious. Taking damage equals low health which leads to death, unless you can save yourself with chems. Blast Zones are full of dangerous enemies and these nuke sites slowly infect players with a torrent of radiation. Therefore, it's important to come prepared. Bring some Rad-X and take one every few minutes; this will provide overall resistance to the radiation regardless of armor stats. It's also important to always have at least 10 Stimpacks equipped for low-health emergencies. No matter how much Rad-X players take, they'll eventually reach a high radiation level, so make sure to have plenty of RadAway handy. All of these chems will significantly increase your chances of survival in the Blast Zone.

Grab Plenty Of Guns And Ammo

It's pretty hard to take down hordes of mutated enemies without powerful weapons. Since Blast Zone creatures tend to gather in larger groups, it's a good idea to bring a Gatling Gun or . You'll easily get overwhelmed if you show up to the party with just a handy dandy .44 Revolver. Shockingly, guns aren't as effective without ammo. It's easy to go through ammunition very quickly at the Nuke site, and players often get so distracted by everything going on that they'll run out without realizing it. Good luck taking on that Scorchbeast Queen with an empty gun's bayonet.

Equip The Right Gear

The site of a Nuke landing presents an interesting dilemma: equip less-protective suits with high Rad resistance, or use tanky Power Armor but need to pop Rad-X like a pill junkie? The answer partially depends on a player's level and weapon strength. and they'll deal a lot of damage, which means that low-level players can get wiped out almost instantly if they're not careful. One of the most effective gear choices for a Blast Zone is the Chinese Stealth Armor. It provides decent protection from multiple types of damage, and its Rad resistance is comparable to a Hazmat Suit. Plus there's the added benefit of invisibility! This armor will let players sneak around that Alpha Deathclaw and live to fight another day.

Admire The Blast Zone Fallout

Sure, there's a lot going on in the Blast Zone, but stop and take a look around. Seriously - it's awesome. Bethesda created an amazing environment that perfectly captures the nuclear blast fallout that players hope to never experience in real life. But in the game, go for it! If approaching the missile crater from far away, players will see a dark wall of clouds in front of them. Everything changes as soon as they're inside. The world becomes red and hazy, with roaring wind and the ever-present sound of burning flames. This is all beautifully complemented with the constant ticks from your Rad meter. It's beautiful...in its own morbid way.
