Assassin s Creed Odyssey A Guide To The Birds Of A Feather Quest
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is bursting with side quests, and here is a step-by-step guide to completing the intricate Birds of a Feather mission. Fans of will know just how much incredible content the game has to offer. it’s chock-full of special loot to grab and, of course, more side quests than it’s really reasonable to have packed in. As you gain access to more of the map, you’re bound to come across an optional mission or two that you need a little help with. Xenia’s Birds of a Feather quest is one that could easily trip players up, so here’s a step by step guide to tackling it. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY What Is The Quest
Let’s start at the beginning. The first thing you’ll want to know is exactly what this quest is, so here’s a quick introduction. Your objective is to find the quest item Golden Feather of Ajax, as requested by Xenia, and bring it back to her. To aid you in your duty, she’ll provide a treasure map, but things aren’t exactly what they seem when it comes to maps! This mission forms part of a whole questline involving Xenia, so you’ll want to be sure to complete it When Does It Become Available
As tends to be , the player isn’t simply free to roam around the entire map from the outset. Bite off more than you can chew and you’ll soon probably find yourself in an area you’re not remotely ready for, with enemies about four times your level creating several painful new bodily orifices for you. If that sounds like as bad a time as it tends to be, you’ll be glad to hear that the Birds of a Feather quest unlocks at an appropriate time. On starting Chapter 7, travel to the island of Keos will become an option. From here, when your character is around level 30 or so, you should be ready to get started. What Are The Rewards
One last crucial point before you set out on this mission, though. When it comes to gamers and side quests, the most important consideration of all is probably this: what’s in it for the player? After all, while some like to complete every optional objective and find every secret just for the sake of 100% completion, others will pick and choose the quests with the best rewards. In and of itself, Birds of a Feather yields the standard XP and some sweet, sweet drachmae. It’s nothing very special in that sense, but if you’re out to collect every trophy in the game, you’ll need to complete this questline. More on that later! Head To Keos And Grab The Maps
With all of this said, completionists are surely raring to go, so set sail for Keos (once you’ve arrived at Chapter 7 on the main story) and let’s get started! On the island, you’ll find the aforementioned Xenia,a formidable Pirate Queen who has cooked up a treasure hunt for you. She wants to get her hands on the Golden Feather of Ajax, and even has a map that will lead her to it. For whatever reason, though, she needs the player to take on the job themselves. Kicking things off isn’t as simple as nabbing the map and heading on your way, though, because there’s a bit of a complication. Pick The Right Map To Follow
That’s right, friends. If you’re standing there with Xenia with a bit of a perplexed look on your face, it’ll be because she didn’t simply give you a map. She gave you five! Rumored locations of the treasure? We don’t have time for that. While these clues are intended to help the player riddle out the Feather’s location, there’s no need for trial and error. The good news for prospective treasure hunters is that the item will be in the exact same spot in every playthrough: the map shown here is the one that will guide you true. Off you go to the Lighthouse of the Father of Ajax! Smashing Pots Like Link Is The Way Forward
If you simply had to rock up at the marked location and pick up the Golden Feather of Ajax from the ground under a big ‘X’ symbol, this wouldn’t have been very challenging, would it? Odyssey’s side quests might not be as elaborate as but there’s still more to this mission than that. On arriving at the Lighthouse of the Father of Ajax, you’ll find that your waypoint leads you to some large urns. and you’ll find that… there’s nothing inside. Yep, you’ll have to work a little harder to claim your prize! Bandits At Three O Clock
Don’t despair, though. The ever-useful waypoint will do a lot of the rest of the work for you. You’ll be pointed in the direction of a nearby NPC, who will report that, yet again, some troublesome bandits in the area are behind the precious item’s disappearance. Time to do what Kassandra/Alexios does best and hunt them down! Simply follow another handy marker to their lair. By this stage in the game, you should be able to dispatch yet another group of these meddlesome mobs without too much issue. Go to town using your preferred combat approach, then it’s just a case of taking their drops as usual. You’ll find that one of them holds the Golden Feather of Ajax! Return To Xenia With The Feather
There we are, then. You’ve deciphered the treasure map, left another grisly pile of bodies for some unfortunate soul to clear up after you (presumably someone does this at some point) and claimed the item Xenia covets. Good job! All that’s left now is to make the return journey to Xenia and hand over the Feather. The Birds of a Feather quest is over, but you’re not finished with this treasure-hungry pirate yet! This Quest Was Only The Beginning
If you only signed up for Birds of a Feather itself, you’re probably going to get more than you bargained for here. You see, Xenia has a whole questline in store for eager players, with a total of five treasure hunts to complete! Birds of a Feather leads into Sacred Vows, a similar search through Attika’s Sanctuary of Sounion for the Makedonian Bracelet. You’ll then embark on the She Who Controls the Tides quest for Triton’s Shell of the Tides (found in the cave under the water at Chalkidike), followed by the Throw the Dice Quest for Pan’s Flute and Apollo’s Lyre (found in the Cave of Pan in Attika and Apollo’s Temple encampment in Euboea respectively). Finally, the difficult Priceless Treasure quest requires loot from a special treasure coffer within Olouros Fortress in Achaia. Finish The Questline And Claim Your Rewards
Speaking of priceless treasure, what does the player get when they finally drop of that last treasure at Keos and please Xenia at last? Well, lots of XP between the five quests, which is very nice in The Drachmae never goes amiss either. As promised, though, the two trophies available through this questline are going to be the major draw for achievement hunters. A Pirate’s Life For Me pops when you complete the Priceless Treasure quest (which you can do fairly early if you’re sneaky, despite the frightening level of the enemies in Olouros Fortress). Secondly, Xenia is also a candidate for the Aphrodite’s Embrace trophy, if the player selected the romance-oriented dialogue choices with her. All in all, Birds of a Feather is an interesting optional quest that really opens up options for the player and is worth diving into.
