Infinity Ward Teases Major Warzone Map Change

Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's popular battle royale mode, Warzone, may have noticed a tease from Infinity Ward. Via Charlie INTEL Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's popular battle royale mode, Warzone, may have noticed a tease from Infinity Ward, indicating the map may see changes. While nothing is confirmed, a new start menu background suggests a once often overlooked portion of the map could be very different in the future. While the map is relatively large, the nature of the game draws players closer to the center rather than the outskirts. Normally, there's a higher chance of interaction with other players, more weapons, and odds are, when the gas comes in, you'll be safer in the center. Still, the dam, located closer to the outer regions of the map, is an imposing structure that serves as a massive landmark for players to reference. Currently holding back a frozen lake that players can run across, a change in the start menu may be teasing that the lake won't be ice for much longer. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY On the start screen, players will see the dam we all know, but now, water is leaking through. There's no indication regarding what this could mean for the map as a whole either. Tenured Call of Duty players may recall in Black Ops 4, the game's Blackout mode also featured a dam that broke. This caused the map to be completely flooded in regions for a period of time. There's no telling if Infinity Ward would copy Treyarch in that regard, but it seems unlikely as it would be a major change to the map structure. Still, this does indicate that players may experience a summer season inside the map. Regardless of what Infinity Ward is planning, it's common for games in the battle royal genre to update their maps frequently. Just last month, Epic Games' Fortnite dropped their V12.20 update, and with it came multiple tweaks to the map. Apex Legends was no different either, receiving a map update in February. In the meantime, Season 3 of Warzone is in full swing, and some changes have come with it. A recent update allows players to see the distance between them and teammates. Along with this is the addition of Quads mode which now lets players bring an extra friend instead of the original limit of three. Source:
