Animal Crossing New Horizons - 10 Rarest Items You Can Find In Uncharted Waters
The latest update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons now allows players to dive underwater, where they can find some truly rare stuff! With the July update, players are now able to finally dive into the waters surrounding the island and find rare sea creatures to donate to the , as well as sell for a good price. It also served as the introduction of , who will exchange a DIY recipe or a pearl for a scallop. Diving is possible both on the home island itself, as well as on . Depending on the time of the day, players might find different creatures and while most are easy to catch, others are extremely fast and almost impossible to swim after. Here's ten of the rarest catches a player can find during a dive. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Horseshoe Crab
The horseshoe crab is a small grey crab that can be discovered usually at night time only, so make sure to go for dives after 9 PM when wanting to catch this . Its shadow size is roughly medium size. The horseshoe crab moves relatively quickly, but its movement is in short bursts. At the store, it sells for 2500 bells. Lobster
The lobster is a hard one to catch, but the good thing about it is that it's available at all times of the day. It has a large shadow, so when looking for one, make sure to pay attention to the shadow size. Lobsters have a surprisingly fast movement which can make them hard to catch, but the good news is they sell for a decent price at 4500 bells. Spiny Lobster
The spiny lobster seems to be a variation of the regular lobster, and is much more difficult to catch than its regular counterpart. Make sure to dive after 9 PM only when looking for this one, as it's mostly available at night. The spiny lobster has a pretty big shadow, and its movement is very fast. However, it sells for 5000 bells which makes it worthwhile. Venus Flower Basket
A very peculiar sponge-like white and blue creature, Venus' flower basket is a critter than can be caught throughout the entire day. It has a pretty large shadow size which can make it easier to notice when swimming on the surface. Its movement, however, is pretty fast and annoying to deal with, since it tends to move in long lunges. It can be sold for 5000 bells. Snow Crab
The large and reddish snow crab lives up to its actual size when it comes to its shadow. Luckily this critter is available all day and night, which means the player can dive for it at any time. It's movement is brisk, but in short bursts which makes it a doable catch. The snow crab can be sold at Cranny for a pretty nice sum of 6000 bells. Red King Crab
Much bigger than the snow crab, its shadow is still roughly the same size as that of the snow crab. Similarly to the snow crab, the red king crab is available to catch all day and night, but it's no easy task. This critter moves very quickly, and not in bursts, which can make it tiring to run after it. However, it's not a waste of time, since the selling price is a whopping 8000 bells. Vampire Squid
A very peculiar and angry-looking squid, the vampire squid is bright red compared to the regular squid which can be caught while . With a medium shadow size, the vampire squid can be a bit hard to distinguish while swimming. The best time to find one is after 9 PM, but prepare to swim fast, since this critter likes to escape in long bursts of swimming, which means the player needs to time their own swimming properly. Its price is 10 000 bells, which is pretty incredible. Sea Pig
This creature might not look exactly like a pig, but its name aside, it's one of the worthiest and rarest catches in the game. Found only at night time after 9 PM until 4 AM, this tiny pale pink creature is a fast swimmer. It has a tiny shadow size, as is appropriate for its actual size, and sells for 10 000 bells at the shop. Giant Isopod
The giant isopod has become quite infamous among Animal Crossing players, due to its impeccable ability to escape. It's one of those rare creatures that are extremely hard to catch, but with patience anything is possible. It has a medium sized shadow, and is only active at night time after 9 PM until 4 AM. To catch it, the player should swim very slowly towards it, and try to predict its next turn to cut it off on its path. At the shop, it sells for 12 000 , which is more than worthy of the insane effort that goes into catching this sucker. Gigas Giant Clam
The rarest and most expensive thing to dive for is the Gigas giant clam. As one would imagine from its name, this thing's shadow size is massive compared to other shadows, and therefore is pretty easy to spot. It's also available day and night. The challenge comes in actually catching it. Just like the giant isopod, this one is very hard to keep up with as it swims faster than the player. Cutting it off is a good strategy, and once caught, it can be sold for 15 000 bells.
