Pokémon Which Gen III Trainer Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign
Gen III had some pretty interesting trainers. Here's who your Zodiac sign says you're most like. When looking at the series, it can be easy to look back on the older games with rose-tinted glasses. Some games do genuinely hold up, like Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Platinum. Some games, on the other hand, just are a tad underwhelming. This may be a game many older Pokémon fans grew up with, but Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire have their problems. The games are still great in terms of music, and new Pokémon designs were great. However, the map design is flawed ("too much water" was always valid critique), and the characters aren't that interesting. Still, many of the Gen 3 trainers stand out in the minds of fans, either due to nostalgia or actually good design. And this list will serve to let trainers out there know which of these classic characters shares their spirit. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Aries Archie
Both of Ruby and Sapphire's villains are charismatic and memorable, even if their plans are terrible. Archie, in particular, stands out because of his raw, unfiltered passion towards protecting . He's confident and determined to see his goals through, and will fight anyone to stay on the path. He's an incredible leader because he can get so many people on his side, and it's hard not to at least somewhat empathize with his struggle. He's still attempting to control natural forces and harm land Pokémon, so he isn't a good guy, but he's good at heart. At the end of the day, his attitude works for the honorable Aries. Taurus May
While their characters functionally serve the same purpose, the NPC versions of May and Brendan both have different personalities. They both are children of Professor Burch, but the way they speak to the player is radically different. May, as opposed to Brendan, is more interested in seeing their rival succeed. May's goals are more towards doing research to help her dad and buying some cute dolls along the way. She's responsible and patient with her research and her rival, willing to be a teacher when she needs to be, but a rival when she wants to be. Through this behavior, she's a perfect fit for a rock-solid Taurus. Gemini Flannery
Flannery may seem a bit hot-headed, and the initial gut feeling is to make her a fire sign. However, Flannery's behavior doesn't really fit well across the board with any of the fire signs. She's hot-headed like her , but he's also nervous and has trouble figuring out her own life. She's also more gentle, affectionate, and friendly once the player battles her and she gets her nerves out of the way. She's a social butterfly once she gets over her mental blockades. These sorts of traits don't really read as a primary fire sign, but seem like they would resonate much more soundly with the Gemini. Cancer Wallace
The gym leader turned champion, Wallace, is a very artistic and wild person. His style is unmatched, and his battle prowess is similarly strong. He isn't quite a rollercoaster of emotions, but he clearly does care about people and Pokémon. However, he's also very closed off to the people that aren't close to him. He's a bit of a mystery to read, and there's perhaps a whole other side to him that he isn't willing to show. The ocean of his personality is one that isn't entirely crystal clear to read. Through these traits, he's the trainer in Gen 3 that most strongly resonates with the Cancer. Leo Brendan
Brendan is similar to personality in May in some traits, but radically different in others. The most obvious trait is that Brendan still sees himself as a trainer and first-and-foremost, rather than a friend. He's confused that he isn't able to beat his rival, and is reluctant to call it quits on his own journey as a trainer. He's also much more colorful in his language than May, having some more spice and edge to what he's saying. He's extremely confident in himself regardless of his skill. He isn't the most face-up Leo, but his personality still has plenty of traits a Leo could see in themselves. Virgo Wally
The other, "surprise" rival of Ruby and Sapphire is Wally, who serves as the last battle before the Pokémon League. Wally is a quiet, reserved kid. He's sickly at first, but once he gets better he's determined to become a trainer. He's critical of himself, but pushes himself to improve and become better. This kind of focus makes him incredibly hard-working. He's also just a loyal friend and companion, willing to owe a lot of his change as person to his rival. Wally's reserved nature and strong resolve is absolutely something a Virgo appreciates. Libra Norman
In a rare situation, Norman is one of the few canonical dads of Pokémon protagonists. In fact, he's the only father in the mainline series that the player can interact with. And Norman is a great father figure; he wants the best of his kid and will push them to their limits. However, he still cares enough about them to help them on their way. He also is willing to help Wally catch a partner Pokémon. He's fair with his words and deeds, and he promotes a balanced way of battle. The selfless and fair Norman is a Libra through and through. Scorpio Tate and Liza
As opposed to Brendan and May being unique individuals, Tate and Liza are still close enough to the same in personality that it doesn't change which sign they resonate with the most. Being trainers, they are sensitive to their surroundings, making them a good fit for a water sign. The two of them also believe in the strength of their own battle style above other trainers. They also have a deep and personal friendship and connection with each other, something that not all siblings can say they have. These traits make both of them the intelligent and friendly Scorpio. Sagittarius Steven
Steven, the champion of Hoenn, obviously has to make an appearance on this list. The only question was where he would best fit. Steven is a calm, idealistic person. He loves to travel around the region and help people wherever he can. He waxes philosophically at times and does his fair share of research into ancient traditions. As the child of a wealthy businessman, was given a lot of advantages in life, but he embraced philanthropy. Still, he's not one to hold back his tongue when he sees foolish ideas or behaviors; he will challenge them. This makes Steven a good pair for the Sagittarius. Capricorn Roxanne
Roxanne, the gym leader, is a teacher with a bit of an ego. She believes in her research above anything else, and trusts herself as the best source. She's a disciplined person though, as shown through her stern teaching style. She does have a habit of coming off as a know-it-all, though, and is surprised when her knowledge does fail her. She's also content just being a teacher and a gym leader for beginning trainers; she's happy with her life. Roxanne is a responsible leader, and her traits read like that of the Capricorn. Aquarius Winona
Winona's personality is hard to read. She's very much disconnected from the world outside of her small town, which makes her come off as aloof. Despite her head being in the clouds, she understands the plight of people around her. She's not the person who initiates conversation and battles, but will gladly participate. Her attitude and design can be read as a person who loves intellectual debate and conversation as well. The lofty ideals and personality of this trainer is a clear fit for an Aquarius. Pisces Phoebe
Phoebe, the ghost-type elite four member, is very much engrossed in tradition and spirituality. She trains at and frequently visits Mt. Pyre, a place for departed souls to find rest. Through this training, she's able to understand the spirits and what they're saying. This sort of intuition and compassion bleeds into the rest of her personality as well. She's a very kind and gentle trainer, especially compared to the more aggressive elite four member in Sidney. Phoebe's kind spirit is something a Pisces would resonate with.
