Pokémon 10 Hoenn Memes Only True Fans Understand

These Pokémon memes will make all generation three and Hoenn fans laugh. Ruby & Sapphire are two of the most beloved Pokémon games of all, as their overworld was beautifully designed, and were also the first ones to have a more complex and engaging story. Sure, the story had its logical flaws, but that made the games even more fun to play. In this list, you'll find a list with memes to laugh at. Some of them make fun of gameplay mechanics, and others at things that just do not make any sense, so you'll have a blast if you're well versed in the Pokémon games. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Deoxys On Speed

Deoxys is one of the few Pokémon that are confirmed to have come to the Pokémon world from outer space. Very few players legitimately on the original Ruby & Sapphire games, as he could only be faced under special circumstances. Luckily, the Alpha Sapphire & Omega Ruby games let players face this awesome Pokémon once they beat the main game. Anyway, for those that don't know, Deoxys can change its form under certain circumstances, and Speed Forme is one of them, so, he's literally on Speed... Forme.

Delighted Berries

Berries were one of the most interesting and fun mechanics of the Hoenn games, as it let players pick fruits from trees to feed them to their Pokémon or use them to make Pokéblocks, and most importantly, they could be used to plant berry trees. Each berry tree had its own characteristics, as each one had different growth times and yield. Players just had to plant their berries on fertile soil, and then water them every now and then. It's certainly hard to imagine how a plant would be delighted about something though.

Surprise Eggs

Just like any other Pokémon games, Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald also had a Daycare system. This lets players choose up to two Pokémon to be trained by the Daycare workers so they could gain exp and grow without your help. Of course, they promised you that they'd take good care of their Pokémon, what they didn't tell you is that they'd let them mate. Sure, this is beneficial for players and they can use this to raise competitive eggs, but imagine how frustrating would it be for a regular person.

Seriously

Pokémon games are known for using very simple ways of stopping the player from accessing new areas. Sometimes they use 'blocks' like rocks or boulders, so they can be crushed or mover later, other times, they use NPCs like this one guy. Early in the game, he stops you from adventuring on your own because he's investigating some strange footprints, and you had to step over them if you wanted to go to a new area. And once you've progressed enough, he'll discover that these footprints were his own, maybe that guy just needs a new pair of glasses, or a brain, who knows.

But

This NPC is found on one of the three exits found on the Rusturf Tunnel, and he's pretty much the only interesting thing around that area. He asks you to help him find his glasses, but... he's already wearing a pair of glasses. While Pokémon games are known for reusing sprites and models on different human NPCs, one can think that this guy is the same one that was blocking your path earlier in the game. Fun fact: You can find Dark Glasses near this NPC, but it turns out that these aren't the ones he's looking for.

A Tier Of Its Own

Mega Rayquaza is the strongest competitive Pokémon to ever exist. Once the competitive community knew about it, they were very keen on banning the Pokémon out of competitive play. This Pokémon was so powerful that the most important competitive community, Smogon, banned Mega Rayquaza from the Uber Tier, which literally had the most powerful Pokémon to ever exist. They created the Anything Goes tier for it, which is a tier where players can play any Pokémon they want.

Who Doesn t Love Remakes

are among the most beloved games of all, as they try hard to bring old games to a new generation. The Ruby & Sapphire games where the third generation to receive remakes, which were called Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire respectively. Unlike the original games, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire had 3D graphics, which made for a more immersive experience. The developers also kept the overworld layout pretty much intact, which gave the games the right amount of nostalgia.

Steven Stone s Top Five Stones

Steven Stone is perhaps the most known trainer of the Hoenn games. This guy in the Ruby & Sapphire games and their remakes, and he was the first Champion to interact with the player throughout the game. Steven was really crazy about rocks, so he was often found in caves and talked about rocks in every conversation. Fun fact: In Pokémon Emerald, which was launched sometime after Ruby & Sapphire, Steven stopped his career as a trainer just because he wanted to explore the world to find even more rare rocks.

He ll Be Fine

Choosing a starter is probably the hardest choice of any Pokémon game, as you're basically picking the first friend that will help you become a Pokémon Champion. Some players just pick the first one they like, others just take their time. The thing is that Ruby & Sapphire players are given this choice when Professor Birch is about to get mauled by a Poochyena. Luckily, players can take all the time they want, as it isn't a timed choice, so take your time, Prof. Birch will be just fine.

Classic Orlando

In the Hoenn games, your rival is less of a rival and more of a friend that goes to the same places you're going. They're often trying to guide you through the region and will share any useful info or items with you. But it's just kind of funny that they battle you just to have fun, but since you're actively trying to become the region's Champion, you're bound to have no mercy.
