The cheat code “NEXTTURN” will cause the game to advance a . It also removes the penalties from traversing certain terrains like lava pools or mountains. Perhaps most useful is that it makes impassable terrain passable. With this code players can surmount impassable mountains and rock cavern walls.

If the player uses the code “HUYGENS” they can use spells freely without cost. This means spells cast by heroes and leaders will no longer require mana or casting points. This applies to both strategic spells and combat spells.

Gloomy City

With the cheat code “GLOOMYCITY” players can give a particular city one thousand happiness points. This is incredibly useful for raising the morale of a given city, leading to better income and production. It must be repeated for each individual city, and the cities will still be subjected to any factors that raise or lower happiness. Though with one thousand happiness it will take quite a few to lose it.

BOSCH

Using the cheat code “BOSCH” the player will immediately receive 100 thousand gold. Considering the sheer number of things in this game that require gold, this cheat code is incredibly powerful. Players will be able to build expansions, raise armies, and advance their very quickly.

It’s easily the most powerful cheat in the game. So powerful, in fact, that developers have removed it from newer or updated versions of the game. It’s still usable in earlier editions, however.

With the cheat code “REMBRANDT” players will instantly receive 100 thousand mana. This is really handy for players who lean heavily on strategic and combat spells to achieve their victories. It’s also handy for paying the upkeep of a horde of summoned units, or if the player doesn’t have enough buildings or treasure sites to generate the mana they need for their .

The cheat code “GERARDS” is an interesting one as it causes the player to immediately lose the match. Obviously this serves no practical value when it comes to winning a match and offers no advantage or edge over the opponent.

Using the cheat code “PHILIPS” players can instantly produce whatever is in the production queue of every city. This is incredibly powerful as players can spend their time and resources establishing production queues and then have them all completed in one . It’s also nice for some players who find themselves constantly waiting on production queues to finish before starting something else.

HEIN

With the cheat code “HEIN” players will instantly win the match. This is handy for difficult parts of the campaign that players find themselves struggling with. It can also quickly end a battle in the player's favor when they find themselves losing in a skirmish.

ERASMUS

When players use the cheat code “ERASMUS” they’ll instantly research all upgrades and spells for their . Instant upgrades will immediately make their armies more powerful, and having access to all spells gives the player lots of options. It’s also a lowkey cheat in that the player would still struggle with being outnumbered. The mana production would also need to be intense to use all the spells the player now has access to.

LEEUWENHOEK

The cheat code “LEEUWENHOEK” will cause currently researched upgrades and spells to be instantly completed. This is nice for research that takes a considerable time or gives the player a quick edge when confronted with threats.

HAUER

The “HAUER” cheat code will level up the hero or heroes that are found within a specific army. It won’t level them up all the way, so players will have to spam the cheat over and over again to max their level. It also requires them to repeat the process for each army that has heroes.

BARENTZ

The cheat code “BARENTZ” is similar to TASMAN, but instead of merely revealing the map, it will also permanently remove the fog of war. The advantage of this can’t be overstated as the player will have omniscience, knowing what their opponents are doing at any given time.

RUYTER

With the “RUYTER” cheat code players will be able to instantly spawn a hero. The hero that appears will be randomized and will be in the remaining pool of available heroes. This means you can’t have multiples of any given hero, and this cheat will not work if all the heroes are taken.

SPINOZA

The cheat code “SPINOZA” will unlock all upgrades and spells that are available in the game. This cheat has been removed by the developer, so it will only work on older versions of the game.
