Animal Crossing 10 Underrated Cranky Villagers
These underrated cranky villagers deserve their fair shot! They might just end up being your new favorite neighbor in Animal Crossing. In the world of, there are a few hundred different villagers, each of them with their own vibe, personality, and style. With eight personality types and a handful of hobbies that make for a sub-personality, there are a ton of combinations across all the various potential residents. One of, cranky, is given a bad rap. While it sounds like s will be old grumps with a chip on their shoulders, in many cases, this is entirely wrong. Many cranky villagers are real sweethearts and just a bit grouchy in rare circumstances. Here are some cranky villagers that are absolutely misaligned. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Angus
A charming smile, a cool fire-blaze shirt, caring eyes, and a love for fitness — what else could you need in a friend? This chipper guy is Angus, a bull villager with the cranky personality type. However, Angus can often be anything but cranky. He looks happy and he often is, being super friendly and outgoing in his interactions with the player and the other residents. Sure, he can be grouchy and agitated from time to time, but for the most part, Angus is a pleasure to have around. Apollo
He doesn't look as happy as Angus does, but he definitely can be in most of your interactions with him. Apollo is an eagle villager that is supposedly cranky. But the evidence for this apparent personality type is not readily obvious. As a bald eagle, Apollo definitely seems to represent America, especially since his birthday is July 4th. According to his profile in Pocket Camp, he's often misunderstood because of his stern appearance. He also which is adorable and shows his softer side. Limberg
Poor, poor Limberg. This small mousy friend is so often hated on by players . But Limberg is a delight to have around, even if just for his gorgeous house. Given his rough, unshaven appearance and mean-looking face, Limberg is assumed to be a smelly, lazy villager. But, he's the exact opposite in personality. Limberg is as excited to see you . Don't let others' wrong opinions about this lovable weirdo shape your opinion of him. Groucho
With the exception of Judy and Stitches, bears and cubs are severely underrated for some unknown reason. This seeming underappreciation for bears is even more pronounced when it comes to the cranky ones, like Groucho. this blue bear can be a bit of a grump (or a grouch — for obvious reasons) but is still very kind and lovable. While his appearance and "grumble" catchphrase make him seem cranky, his love of music will have him singing and dancing around your island, proving just how fun he can actually be. Chief
Almost all of the wolf villagers are widely-beloved, especially the "pretty" ones like Audie, Freya, and Fang. But, Chief definitely has a bad reputation of being cranky when he really isn't. Sure, his personality reminds one of an elderly war vet who complains about his aching bones and the weather, but it's always in a lovable and charming way. Chief is a sweetie who loves to see the player and will always have nothing but nice things to say. His house, on the other hand, is a bit awful, with the terrible graffiti walls and floor and multiple trash bags lying about. Hopper
Some people believe that Hopper. His red eyes and furrowed brow definitely give him the appearance of someone that would be cranky and mean, but he's actually very warm-hearted. This cranky penguin is modeled after crested penguins, which also have the strange orange brows. As the only cranky penguin, he might seem like he's going to be rude, but he's fun and active like real penguins. In the Dōbutsu no Mori, he even serves as the comic relief. He's just a big joker in the end. Cyd
Everyone remembers the one bad boy in school that would drive a motorcycle, wear leather jackets and chains, and smoke behind the woodshop after detention. Cyd definitely seems like that type of guy, but don't judge a book by its cover — he's anything but bad. Don't let Cyd's narrowed eyes, sly smile, and punk style fool you. He's as lovable and cuddly as any of the other elephant villagers. He just loves punk music and matching its style. Boris
In Pocket Camp, Boris' profile says that he is one of those folks that is "always in a good mood," and that if you need a favor or some cheering up, he'll be there for you. It's strange, then, that he is considered a cranky villager. Sure, he can be a bit agitated by small things, but Boris is as kind and caring as they come. The only strange quirk to Boris is his all-gold house. Admiral
Some villages look like grumps because of their appearance but definitely aren't in reality. Admiral is one of these villagers. As a cranky , Admiral's furrowed brows and disappointed eyes make him seem like he's rude, unimpressed, and impatient. However, get to know him and you'll find these are just unfounded assumptions based on how he looks. Admiral is a great guy, and he has a serious passion for nature, which is his hobby. Kabuki
One of the most fascinating villagers when it comes to their visual design is Kabuki. Inspired in design by the traditional Japanese theater genre, Kabuki has an all-white-and-red design with a cool stripe pattern. When it comes to his personality, he's supposed to be cranky, but definitely isn't. As players around the world ferociously hunt for (far and away the most popular species), names like and Ankha take center stage. But Kabuki deserves a lot more love.
