Fortnite Season 4 Gives Orange Shirt Kid The Justice He Deserves
'Orange Shirt Kid' didn't win Fortnite's 'BoogieDown' contest, but the community loved him and now his dance is in the game. As the Avengers' fight against Thanos is celebrated worldwide with ridiculous box office numbers, there was another sentinel of justice that the world forgot. A true hero who brought happiness to the Fortnite community with his sick moves and an outfit as iconic as any Iron Man armor. I talk, of course, about Orange Shirt Kid. Back in March, Fortnite developer Epic Games held the BoogieDown Contest. Fans were invited to show off their best moves on social media, with the best being immortalized as an emote in the game. One particular user, , took the internet by storm with a routine that was both endearing and admittedly "so cringe." But for all of his popularity, Orange Shirt Kid did not win the contest. He took it like a champ, but the community wouldn't stand for it. It turns out Epic Games heard these cries, and rushed to correct the injustice. Bringing balance in a way that's a lot more reasonable than Thanos, Epic added the kid's dance to the game.
