Apex Legends 10 Things You Didn t Know About Revenant

Apex Legends features a lot of unique heroes and Revenant is no exception. Here are some things you might not know about the character. is a very successful battle royale game by that saw a lot of growth due to its free-to-play model as well as its ability to focus on representation and inclusion in its character roster. Over the last year plus they've done a great job at adding additional legends with unique personalities of their own. One of their most recent is man-turned-machine named Revenant that happens to be a murderous hitman for a crime syndicate. Let's now go over 10 things you didn't know about Revenant from Apex Legends. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Egyptian God Skins

does a good job as a free-to-play game at offering its players skins for both weapons and legends worth chasing after. You would think that Revenant would have darker-themed skins due to his murderous past, which he very much does. In addition to those though they also gave him 3 separate skins all inspired by the Egyptian god, Ra. It not only changes Revenant's coloring but gives him a bird-like head which is more akin to the depictions of Ra throughout Egyptian mythology.

Suicide Squad Easter Egg

Many of the in the game have rare animations that only come up ever so often, and many of them are where players can see references or easter eggs to other entertainment properties. Revenant has a rare animation tied to his Ultimate ability, where his hand is embraced by another hand then flipped over. This is a direct reference to a scene in 2016's Suicide Squad where the Enchantress embraces her human form and is a visual representation of the physical manifestation the witch has when she takes over the body of June Moone.

Ultimate Teases Future Legend

In a world that's somewhat grounded, the introduction of an ability that resurrects people is quite head-scratching. Tom Casiello, a writer for the game, was asked to provide a canonical explanation for the ability, but couldn't due to the explanation being tied to a future legend. It's unclear whether this legend is tied to the Syndicate, Hammond Robotics, or both. It could also end up being a tied to neither, but maybe one who was experimented on and had the ability naturally, before they infused Revenant with it.

Naruto Animations

Throughout the entertainment medium, you'll often find that artists and animators love to reference their favorite influences and inspirations via direct examples, or even sometimes as hidden easter eggs. Revenant happens to have a rarely occurring animation when summoning his Ultimate ability called Death Totem. He will do a series of hand signs that are directly from the famous manga and anime series . This makes perfect sense considering the Naruto franchise focuses on ninjas, which were a direct inspiration for Revenant's character.

Voice Actor

You may be wondering who does the voice of Revenant as it feels like it has a certain cadence and gravitas to it that feels familiar for some reason. Well, the symbol of death is voiced by Darin De Paul. At first, that name might not mean anything to you, but the talented actor has an established footprint in the industry. He's voiced Reinhardt in Overwatch, J. Jonah Jameson in Marvel's Spider-Man, Calus in Destiny 2, and even Owl in 2019's Game Awards Game of the Year winner, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Age & Height

There are a lot of question marks when it comes to Revenant because his past is so mysterious. In terms of height, he stands at 6'8", which is quite impressive, but it is unclear if he was this tall as a human as well. That type of height isn't common, but it also isn't unrealistic. When it comes to his age it's clear he's lived as a synthetic shinobi for 313 years, but it isn't known how old he was when he was transformed. An estimated guess puts him anywhere between 333 to 348 years old. Then again he's resurrected over and over again, so does that all count as one life?

Alternate Name & Ultimate

Datamining is terrible if you're a developer, but if you're a fan it can provide plenty of useful facts that would have never hit the public eye. For instance, thanks to data mining it was discovered that Revenant was initially going to be named Blackout. This is typical in game development as characters often get several passes when being named. It also revealed that his ultimate ability at one point would create a doorway in a wall. The implementation of it was likely riddled with bugs and glitches.

Synthetic Shinobi

Ever since his initial inception, it seems the designers at wanted Revenant to come across as what they described as a "synthetic shinobi." Shinobi are stealthy covert agents that are often simply called ninjas. It doesn't seem as though Revenant is completely robotic, and his human brain is likely what makes him synthetic. The game has a wide cast of characters for players to choose from and its neat that they added one that's unnerving and terrifying, but at the same time exudes a certain level of cool.

His Creators

Imagine being the greatest hitman in one of the most dangerous crime syndicates to ever exist. Before he was turned into a murderous robot, that's exactly what Revenant was. For 300 years he's been carrying out hits for the Syndicate and has functioned as more machine than man throughout. He can't die either, as his owners can resurrect him the moment he dies and bring him back to life. Now he's on a hunt for anything or anyone related to , which operates in the Outlands.

Connection To Loba

If you're familiar with the Syndicate in the world of than chances are you've at least heard of Revenant. During his introduction to the game, players witnessed him kill Marcos and Alanza Andrade, the people who happened to be Loba's parents. At the time she was a witness to the entire event, despite being no older than 10 when it happened. This has given her a lifelong mission of vengeance and she hates Revenant more than anything else in existence. Their relationship when on the same team is less than ideal and 100% uncomfortable.
