Call Of Duty Modern Warfare – Every Shotgun Ranked
While not the most popular weapon category, shotguns still have their place in Call of Duty. Here are all of the Modern Warfare shotguns, ranked. Shotguns are typically outclassed by most weapon categories in multiplayer offerings. typically dominate these games, but there are exceptions to this. Take the 725 from the recent reboot as an example. This weapon was effectively a sniper rifle that shook up the M4 meta for a brief period, albeit it was due to how overpowered it was. Even after its nerfs, it is still a fantastic weapon. That doesn't just apply to the 725, but nearly all of the shotgun category. Here are all of Modern Warfare's shotguns ranked from worst to best. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Origin 12
Via: u/qKatana (Reddit) The Origin 12 isn't a bad gun by any means, but it lacks the punch or range that makes the more frequently used shotguns so effective. like Shipment, the Origin 12 can run a 25-round drum magazine to turn the weapon into a semi-automatic AA-12. This can dominate targets in certain maps, but most of the arenas in Modern Warfare are not suited for this weapon's incredibly short-range. 357 Snake Shot
Via: GoodFishMan (YouTube) By itself, the .357 Magnum is one of the worst weapons in Call of Duty history. It has a delay with each shot unless it has a Lightweight Trigger, and its damage is abysmal if the bullet doesn't land on the head. It does have an ammunition mod that morphs it into a shotgun, though. Named Snake Shot, this loads the .357 with buckshot and can demolish targets in Hardcore or small arenas. Pairing this with Akimbo can be a blast when it works. Be warned that if a target is just a few meters away from this weapon's intended range, the .357's won't hit the broad side of a barn. VLK Rogue
Via: Dot Esports One of Modern Warfare's latest shotguns is an interesting take on the class of weapons. Focused on mobility, the VLK Rogue grants a boost to sprint speed while having low sprint-to-fire times. As a tradeoff, virtually everything on this weapon suffers. Its potential range is subpar unless heavily modded for, but then its mobility suffers as a result. The VLK Rogue is best as a holdout weapon when a target closes the gap faster than expected. 725
Originally, the 725 was hands-down the most overpowered weapon in Modern Warfare. This weapon used to give snipers a run for their money, but this weapon has since been reigned in. Well, mostly. Its range and damage output are absurdly high shotguns. Like other weapons, this comes at a cost. In the 725's case, it only holds 2 shells between each reload. Build this for mobility and the 725 is a terrifying shotgun that will easily frustrate the opposition. Model 860
Via: Press Start Hub Playing similar to the Spas-12 from previous Modern Warfare games, the Model 860 is a devastating shotgun that is fantastic in any mode, ranging from team deathmatch to even . Damage is this weapon's strong suit, instantly killing targets from surprisingly far ranges with the right attachments. Mobility isn't this weapon's purpose like other shotguns, but its satisfying feedback with each shot and massive damage makes it a amongst shotgun enthusiasts. Its only drawback is its rather slow fire rate. R9-0
While not a traditional pump-action shotgun, the R9-0 takes the power of pump-actions and combines it with the ease-of-use of most semi-automatic shotguns. Two shots can be fired before the R9-0 needs to rechamber itself, perfect for taking down two enemies quickly or taking on targets from further range. With a solid range value and reasonable mobility, the R9-0 is a powerhouse that can easily take someone's main weapon slot if the or is indoors. It also has an interruptible reload due to not using a magazine while still having a quick reload. Model 860 With Dragon s Breath
Via: u/Cyborgmatt (Reddit) Dragon's Breath gets its own mention because of how much of an impact they make on a shotgun. The Model 860 didn't for multiplayer, but it was behind the curve for Warzone. Thankfully, Dragon's Breath helps it tremendously. This ammo attachment grants the weapon a damage-over-time effect with each shot, delaying health regeneration and killing weak targets. This allows the Model to 2-shot targets in Warzone from a much further range. As with the base model, the Model dominates in multiplayer and becomes a powerhouse in Hardcore modes. VLK Rogue With Dragon s Breath
Via: Zbor Gaming While Dragon's Breath makes the Model marginally better, it turns the VLK Rogue from a mediocre weapon into an incredibly strong holdout weapon in every game type. Damage is much higher thanks to the fire damage that burns targets over time, further amplified by the VLK's fast fire rate. Combined with its mobility boost that rivals most secondaries, this gun is a terrifying option for Hardcore modes and is surprisingly effective in Warzone. Players will still need to be really close to targets or sacrifice their exceptional mobility, but either way, the power this weapon provides is well worth using Overkill for.
