Animal Crossing New Horizons - What Does Wishing On Shooting Stars Do

When you wish upon a star in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can build a cool wand. The series has been home to a number of neat little features over the years. One of those happens to be a meteor shower. While everything might seem inconsequential at first glance, the occasional meteor showers that happen on your island actually hold a purpose. You can wish on falling stars! This is more than just a cute little gimmick. As with the rest of , wishing upon stars gives you some crafting materials you can use to make a magic wand. This wand is also more than just some elaborate Harry Potter cosplay, too. With it, you'll be able to designate some outfits and instantly change between them without visiting a wardrobe. It's really nifty for those that want to plan out their week. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY It is a little unclear what triggers a meteor shower in New Horizons, but a surefire sign of it happening is when you spot Celeste in your town center. Sister to Blathers, Celeste is known for staring into the night sky and charting the various constellations that appear. She also clues you into how you'll wish on each star, not to mention gives you the DIY recipe for the magic wand. Via: Animal Crossing Fandom Wiki By tilting the right joystick upward, the camera will pan to view the sky above. When you see a meteor falling, just press A and your character will play a little animation, not to mention the star will light up a bit. You'll need to make sure you aren't holding any tools in your hands, but you can otherwise stand in one spot and wish on as many stars as you like. The following morning, make sure to patrol the beaches to pick up the various star fragments that have fallen. Wishing on more stars will result in more fragments, though it's uncertain if there is a cap. Still, these fragments can then be used to craft the magic wand. The wand requires three "Star Fragments" and one "Large Fragment." That means you'll have to make at least four wishes, though obviously more is better. Sometimes you'll find other fragments on the beach, such as an "Aries Fragment." Those likely have some other use that hasn't quite been discovered. You can also sell the extra fragments you have, but small ones will only bring in 250 bells. Unless you're just rolling in stars, there isn't much reason to sell these.
