The Blokkablok is one of the most creative enemies in Mario franchise, and they're just a bunch of moving blocks with spikes on the end of them. As such, players will need to time their jumps correctly if they want to obtain the goodies that these blocks hold within them. The spikes will deal the average amount of damage to and bring him out of the power-up that he currently has equipped. This challenging enemy is especially fun in Super Mario 3D Land because of the extra reward that players will gain if they manage to hit their blocks. Prongo
The Prongo is a peculiar-looking enemy, and it will sometimes flip upside down, allowing to attack and defeat it. This enemy has a spike on its head and a casing of armor covering the rest of its body. Due to Prongo's spike, Mario will not be able to defeat it before it flips upside down. What makes this enemy so notable is the fact that Prongos can be very difficult to fight when there are many of them around. Tail Boo
The Tail Boo offers a very fun challenge in Super Mario 3D Land, and this is mostly because it is an enemy that is present in all of the other games with a twist. What's particularly special about the Tail Boo is, naturally, the tail on the back of its body that can be used to attack Mario when he least expects it. This new type of Boo functions in the same way as the regular Boo, but with an extra attack that makes it even trickier to defeat. Spike Eel
The Spike Eel can be quite annoying in the many water levels within Super Mario 3D Land; but it is also an extremely creative creature that hasn't been seen in many other Mario games. This enemy will hide in underwater caves and wait for Mario to enter its vicinity before using its giant body to attack. Both the physical design and the mechanics of this enemy are so different from other enemies within the 2D entries, and that's what makes this one of the best enemies in the Super Mario franchise. Pokey
The Pokey made its return in Super Mario 3D Land, and it still has one of the coolest designs of any Mario enemy. Pokeys reside in desert levels and will prevent Mario from getting across them without jumping. If Mario hits this spiky enemy, he will take damage. Because of how tall this enemy typically is, Pokeys offer a fun yet challenging encounter every time they appear in a Super Mario games. Morty Moles
Morty Moles make their home underground and will be difficult to deal with because of how many there usually are in one area, and how small of a space Mario or is in when encountering them. Most players find the Morty Mole adorable, and it's no surprise with its mole-like design and funny animations. This enemy is both great because of its design and a blast to encounter; as such, fans consider it to be one of the most beloved enemies in Super Mario 3D Land. Spiky Piranha Plant
There are a variety of different Piranha Plants within Super Mario 3D Land, but the Spiky Piranha plant takes the spot as the most difficult to fight. This enemy will act as a regular Piranha Plant, but Mario will only be able to defeat it using fireballs or other outside methods, no jumping this time. The extra level of difficulty that this Piranha Plant offers makes it quite fun to fight, and fans will quickly find that the spikes on its head make for a challenge that is unlike any other Piranha Plant in the game. Tail Goomba
The Tail Goomba is similar to the Tail Boo in that it is a regular Goomba with a tail on its back. It can use this tail to inflict damage upon Mario, and considering that Goombas are usually very weak, this is a nice change of pace for the common enemy. Players will need to attack Tail Goombas swiftly, or they will fly through the air and swipe at Mario with great strength. The Tail Goomba is an amazing twist on a fan-favorite. This enemy shows up in a bunch of different levels. Stingby
Stingby is the most adorable bumblebee that Mario fans have ever laid eyes on, and it is one of the more unique designs in Super Mario 3D Land without a doubt. This bumblebee will attack Mario with the stinger on the front of its body and deal quite a bit of damage to the plumber. Stingbys fly around, and overall can be a pain to deal with; that said, fans don't mind because of the extra difficulty that they add to an otherwise easy game. Wallop
The Wallop is an amazing enemy, and most fans that have played Super Mario 3D Land remember it fondly. What makes this enemy so great is the fact that it can block the player's path and deal damage if Mario is underneath it when it jumps. The Wallop also has a distinct appearance that any fan can differentiate from a lot of the other common enemies in the Mario franchise. Fans will have to jump over this enemy if they want to get past it, and dealing with Wallops on some of the harder levels can be an absolute blast.
