24 Rules Stormtroopers Need To Follow In Star Wars

The iconic Star Wars characters are about to make a whole lot more sense. Check out our list of rules they need to follow! The beloved Stormtrooper we all know and love have a fascinating rulebook! They are capable of a lot of things, but aiming really isn't one of them. Are there things that you wish you could change about how they operate? It seems like they don't have a structure to their training or what the for joining requirements are. There are differences between the old clone stormtroopers and the First Order stormtroopers, but one thing that hasn't changed is their relative skills: they have terrible aim, are too easily fooled, and desperately need a vacation every now and then. I know that I saw the one stormtrooper that had hit his head on the door frame, which means he would need to get his eyes checked. The color white sticks out way too much for them when they are surrounded by forest or out in the desert. Or the fact that they are easily persuaded by an old man in a brown robe. THOSE ARE THE DROIDS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! These are things that are so glaringly obvious that need to be fixed! They need basic training and classes just to put on that uniform, so why don't they!? I have compiled a list of rules or "suggestions" that would improve the stormtroopers in their jobs and way of life. If you can think of more interesting rules for stormtroopers blast them down in the comments! THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Required Shooting Range Training

via imgur It’s no secret that stormtroopers are notoriously bad at firing their blasters. Unless they are firing their blasters on stun, then they can stop an Alderaan princess in her tracks. We first see this in A New Hope, when Luke and company were able to rescue Leia and escape the Death Star without a scratch from the Stormtroopers. If you’re interested in learning why they have terrible aim, there is more information listed in Cracked's piece: . They need better aim. The stormtroopers would benefit from having target training prior and during active duty. We aware that these stormtroopers are only clones but they are clones of Jango Fett who is an excellent bounty hunter. There’s a reason they used him but apparently, they need to work out the kinks in their cloning facility because it seems that the lost the skill of aim.

Acquire Better Armor

via bluemilkspecial Fans of the movies know that what Stormtroopers wear for armor isn’t effective against blaster fire, lightsabers, or adorable Ewoks. To the naked eye, it looks like plastic. According to the , it is “some of the best in the Empire and was dreaded by rebel freedom fighters.” Someone needs to go to the Empire Requisitions and demand better armor to defend against cute teddy bear attacks. According to the wiki, it is supposed to help in harsh environments such as Tatooine, Endor, or Hoth. While that may be true, the suit needs massive improvements. They need to be built like what they are mistaken for; droids. Droids can be resilient against blasters but not the silly “roger, roger” droids, but more like the ones with impervious-like shields.

Have A Union Representative

via 9Gag Now this one seems funny considering they are working for the Empire and Palpatine’s last concern would be the welfare of his clone army. One starts to wonder: if he did care about the Stormtroopers, would he get them to do their job better? Would they have better aim? Not get beat up by Paddington Bear? Don’t forget about the Stormtroopers that are no longer clones. The ones that were taken as a child are more likely to defect because of poor treatment, just look at Finn. The stormtroopers should form a union and go on strike. Grab the picket signs and fight for their rights! This would possibly be a win for the rebels though as they could “strike” while they are on strike.

Attend Monthly Seminar On Communication

via pinterest This is an observation that I made when watching the movies. Stormtroopers seem to have no sense of teamwork or understand how to do formation while in a fight. I think that a seminar or classes on communication and teambuilding would benefit Stormtroopers. This may seem silly but even the military has these kinds of exercises and it works for them. Communication skills are very important on the battlefield and can be proven to win the fight. I suppose having Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader as leaders puts a damper on communication as they aren’t very good at it either. Most of Darth Vader’s communication is heavy, labored breathing and using the force on his subordinates in a very tightening manner. Maybe a class for all?

Mandatory Speeder Bike Lessons

via starwarswiki During Episode VI, we see the Stormtroopers riding (and failing) on Endor. Fans can be certain that Leia and Luke are not familiar with how to ride on speeder bikes so how were they able to survive after riding on them, but the troopers weren’t? They should really take lessons just like drivers’ education lessons, so they can properly handle riding them on a forest moon. One stormtrooper was able to shoot down Leia’s bike, so I guess their aim isn’t that bad after all? To make sure there are no mistakes, if they don’t pass the class the first two times, they will then be kicked from the Imperial Army. There is no room for failure when dealing with the rebel alliance.

Attend Defense Class Against Ewoks

via brokecomics It should be obvious that the troopers should not have been so easily defeated by an army of cuteness, but I can see how they did. Stormtroopers were not too familiar with the forest moon of Endor and were sent there on orders from the Emperor for the new . They did what they could! So, I would recommend they attend a class on warding off Ewoks. They need to be aware of how to fight with someone much smaller than they are and use their eyes to look up high as well. Ewoks live up in the trees of Endor, they could possibly start a small forest fire? I’m pretty sure Smokey Bear wouldn’t approve for two reasons, so maybe don’t start a fire.

Attend Class On Defending Against Jedi Mind Tricks

via beautifultrouble We first witnessed the Jedi mind trick on Tatooine when Obi-Wan Kenobi tells the a StormtrooperWe have also seen someone who is only starting out using their force powers in The Force Awakens. Rey was able to use the mind trick on one stormtrooper that was guarding her door. Rey was a noob too. This should say a lot about how they should be trained to try to be immune to such a trick. A class on making sure not to be taken advantage of by a Jedi would make them more efficient. Who decided it was good to leave a stormtrooper, alone, with someone who is force sensitive? Kylo Ren, tsk tsk, who should have known better.

Mandatory Yearly Eye Exam

via imgflip The infamous scene wear the is now a part of Star Wars history. That one trooper made an impact on the audience, now because of that, all stormtroopers should have an eye exam. This also goes hand-in-hand with their aiming abilities as well. It might be time to visit the eye doctor people! Having an eye doctor on-site checking their sight would help weed out those who shouldn’t be there or help them improve their eyesight. Can you imagine a stormtrooper wearing glasses while on the field? They would look so silly! Contacts would probably be the better choice or laser eye surgery. Do stormtroopers have medical insurance let alone eye insurance? It really does make you wonder…

Attend Weekly Thermal Detonator Training

via idratherkissawookie This should go without saying, wearing a on your back isn’t a good idea. There should be a better place to put them or not have them carry them at all since they are so bad at aiming they would probably blow themselves up. If they must carry them, train them how to use them and how to wear them safely. Having it on a utility belt that they could take off might be better. Training to use them might be good too. Do we actually ever see them use it? If we do, they don’t throw them very often. Thermal detonators would have helped if they had thrown them into a herd of Ewoks. An explosion of cuteness? Erm, maybe not so cute afterward.

Always Be In Uniform In Public

via gamepressure Finn broke this rule as well because he took off his helmet in the beginning scenes of The Force Awakens. The uniforms are supposed to symbolize the unity there is among the stormtroopers and that they are all the same. There is no room for individuality among troopers, they all have the same height it seems too! This is a rule that is a continuation of the “No Altering” rule. Stormtroopers who are out in the public eye need to maintain professionalism. Taking off the helmet is a violation of that rule and they will have to wear the magenta uniform when they get back to base. Try to imagine Finn in a magenta uniform, it isn’t pretty. He wouldn’t have defected wearing that uniform, that’s for sure. He wouldn’t want anyone to see him.

No Fraternizing

via hiveminer It is no secret that Stormtroopers are cannon fodder (or bantha fodder for that matter), so it would be best that they should not befriend each other. Losing a compatriot can be a bit heart wrenching and I don’t think a stormtrooper could handle it. You can refer to the first 15 minutes of The Force Awakens. Generally, it is best to have a “No Fraternization” rule in every workplace to stave off issues such as office romance, or conflicts outside of the job. I highly doubt this would be an issue for stormtroopers but having this rule in place just covers the bases. These rules should be in place but only until the other rules about their treatment are fixed. What more needs to be said?

Use Personal Energy Shields

via wookiepedia If there are any fellow players of , know that the personal energy shields are very useful for their player. Now, why don’t the Stormtroopers have them? There shouldn’t be any reason not have them though because technology has only gotten better. Equip every trooper with a personal energy shield and they are likely to survive battle. They should be able to carry multiple since in the game the player can only turn them on so many times. They should put them on their utility belt or have them carry it in a pack. That’s another thing, why don’t we see many of them carrying backpacks? I digress, give them personal energy shields and that should fix their status as bantha fodder.

Specialize In All Weapon Classes

via quora There are different classes of stormtrooper. Each class has different roles, but —realistically— they should all be trained in the heavy weapons as well as just blasters. If they get ambushed with only a weapon they need to be able to adapt. This way the First Order can cover their bases, and have a more successful group of stormtroopers that the Empire didn’t have. There are many variants of stormtrooper, but they should all have specialized training even if they work in sanitation. If the past movies have taught us anything is that the rebels always end up in a garbage compactor. Any who don’t make it through the specialized training can only be posted at low-level sites where they can’t mess anything up. Maybe somewhere like Jakku?

Take A Vacation

Ambidextrous Training

via hiveminer We have seen in the ’77 version of Star Wars and have noticed that they are all left-handed. In the newer ones, they can be seen using their rights hands. In general, they should know how to shoot with both hands because you never know when someone is going to come along with a lightsaber and cut one of them off. What would they do if both were indisposed? Maybe become an awesome kicker. Or they could learn to shoot with their feet, a stormtrooper can do that right? What could happen is if they use the same machine that put Darth Vader back together to give their stormtroopers the advantage. They could even give them extra limbs, though that might mean they need to alter their uniforms…again.

Wear Ear Plugs When Guarding Jedi

Wear Camouflage On Forest Planets

via generationtechyoutube It works fine to wear an all-white armor when on the ice planet of Hoth, but if on Endor, stormtroopers can be spotted a mile away. In Episode VI, we see the rebels wearing clothing that fits with the background and they would be less likely to be seen whereas the stormtroopers where bright white. Whoever their commanding officer was, they didn’t do a good job of keeping the team safe. There were options in Knights of the Old Republic to go into stealth mode, so we do know that it is an option. Having a cloaking system installed on the uniforms would help. A Harry Potter invisibility cloak if you will. I would guess that only those with stealthy abilities would work better with the uniform, but training could fix that.
