Magic The Gathering s War Of The Spark Already Has An Infinite Combo For EDH
It's still a month before War of the Spark hits stores, but spoiled cards are already busting EDH with infinite combos. via Magic The Gathering Magic The Gathering s War Of The Spark Already Has An Infinite Combo For EDH The upcoming War of the Spark Magic: The Gathering set already has an infinite combo in EDH. The War of the Spark is coming next month, but already tons of cards have been spoiled (a compendium of which can be found over on ). The major theme will be Planeswalkers due, with the highly revered typing coming in uncommon rarity for the first time. Players are theorizing on cards and combos, with one Redditor having discovered an upcoming black enchantment can provide for an infinite card-drawing combo in EDH. The card is called Bolas’s Citadel, and it not only shows the place where Nicol Bolas ascends to godhood but also harkens back to classic “pay life, draw cards” black enchantments such as Necropotence and Yawgmoth’s Bargain. You can see the Citadel in the latest War Of The Spark trailer here: THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Bolas’s Citadel costs three colorless mana and three black mana, and allows the player to look at the top card of their library whenever they want. They may then play that card so long as they pay for the card’s converted mana cost with their own life points. A secondary ability allows the card to be tapped and 10 nonland permanents to be sacrificed to make each opponent lose life. We’re mostly sticking with the “look at the top card and play it by paying life” mechanic. pointed out that this mechanic works particularly well with an EDH staple, Sensei’s Divining Top. RELATED: via Reddit user ToorShul Magic The Gathering s War Of The Spark Already Has An Infinite Combo For EDH Sensei’s Divining Top allows the player to draw the top card of the library and place the Divining Top on top of it. If Bolas’s Citadel is in play, the player can then replay the Divining Top by paying 1 life, effectively creating the “pay 1 life, draw one card” Necropotence effect. Add in Aetherflux Reservoir, which causes the player to gain one life per spell cast each turn, and you now no longer need to pay life to draw cards. This combo allows the player to draw their deck whenever they want. Of course, this combo would only work in a casual format such as EDH as Sensei’s Divining Top is banned in constructed play. Even some casual groups have banned The Top for its ability to slow games to a crawl as the Top player endlessly spins his library. Still, this combo is there for you when War of the Spark releases online on April 25th and in stores May 3rd. NEXT:
