The Nintendo UK site added new pages for Banjo-Kazooie and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 that point toward a Nintendo 64 retro console. Via: microsoft.com The Nintendo UK site has added a few new pages that have thrown fuel on the fire of a Nintendo 64 retro console, as and now have pages on the site. Nintendo has had a lot of luck with its line of retro consoles, which has led fans to speculate over what the next one will be. The Virtual Console is now gone, so Nintendo doesn’t have to worry about devaluing their old games by selling them as part of a collection. The two leading candidates are a Game Boy mini that acts as a handheld retro console, or a Nintendo 64 retro console with four controller ports. There were some leaked photographs of a supposed Nintendo 64 mini, but those have yet to be backed up in any meaningful way and should be taken with a grain of salt. RELATED: Via: nintendo.co.uk Banjo-Kazooie is the far more exciting game of the two, as Rare (now owned by Microsoft) would need to be cooperating in order for the title to appear on a Nintendo 64 retro console and it’s almost pointless to create one without any Rare games, considering how many of the best titles on the system were developed by them. The Nintendo 64 port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is less exciting, due to the fact that it was the inferior version of the game, due to the limited memory space of the Nintendo 64 cartridges, which required for all of the music in the game to be compressed in order for it to fit, making it sound awful. If Nintendo does release a Nintendo 64 retro console in time for the 2018 holiday season, then it will be competing with the upcoming PlayStation Classic, which is due to be released in December. This means that the console wars of old will be revived for another Christmas battle, with the Nintendo 64 and the PlayStation rising from their graves in order to battle each other and their younger relatives, in the form of the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4.
