29 Console Gaming Heroes And Villains Reimagined As Parents

With all the action in console games, it's hard to imagine our favorite heroes and villains living normal lives. These 29 artists did it for us. Parenthood is not as expected as it used to be. That’s not completely true in the fan art world though. These drawings are packaged as dreams of fans for their favorite characters to get domestic happy endings. For some people, domestic and happy means having kids. A lot of characters do not get domestic happy endings though. Honestly, that’s likely due to the fact that the companies want to make more games. Other times games just are dark and do not have room for parenthood. Some games have an option for having kids like in Skyrim’s Hearthfire DLC. Now there are even some games that make having a kid a fact and part of the mechanics like in the newest God of War game. Not all families are the same though. Sometimes parents are less about blood and more about just having a guardian relationship. That is addressed in some of this fan art. Others get even more creative by shrinking the age of characters to make the guardianship of another more obvious. Either way, It's almost therapeutic to see our favorite heroes and villains shelf their weapons and experience the love that is being part of a family. After all, isn't that what they're fighting for at the end of the day? A future where their family and offspring can thrive? With all that in mind, below is our list of console characters reimagined as parents. Enjoy! THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Wind Waker Family

via: deviantart.com/beagletsuin “Here's Link, Tetra, and their family after their coronation to their New Kingdom,” wrote the artist. “I have no actual name for it, but it sounds a little better than ‘New-Hyrule.’ "This happens after a few more 'adventures', of course. “Here, Link is King, Tetra's the Queen, their growing children (Finn & Shelli) are a prince and a princess, and Galiot is worshipped by animals everywhere! And it looks like the coronation isn't the only thing that is currently being celebrated.” Art was made by .

Big Boss Dad

via: pinterest.com Metal Gear has a lot of family involved without the family being together. The family members play a large role, but you rarely see them in the same room. Big Boss did not raise Solid and Liquid. If he did though, raising his sons would look something like this. The dynamics of these three personalities can create endless jokes. Big Boss would probably be a distant and disturbed father while his sons argued and fought all the time. Liquid in particular would be a giant baby. Artist is unknown.

Orzammar s Royal Family

via: deviantart.com/sqbr “Family portrait of Leliana and a female Brosca as queens of Orzammar,” wrote the artist. “They're in the throne room with Rica, baby Endrin, Shmooples and Dog. Drawn in a cartoonish style with lots of purples and golds.” With Dragon Age being a game about choices, there are endless family possibilities. You can romance different characters and end up a queen if you play your cards right. However having children is left mostly to fan-fiction and fan art. Art was made by .

Papa Garrus And Mama Shepard

via: deviantart.com/rossilyn “I really wanted one with Garrus looking especially tender,” wrote the artist. “And the idea of him holding the baby and femShep getting her N7 Mommy bag and a bottle just popped into my head. Seems like baby turian wants his mommy to hold him instead. “I would like to point out that the baby turian is adopted, which is why it doesn't have much for human features, as I have never seen a baby turian, I did base it off of real human babies and kept things like small size, big eyes, and chubbier body.” Art was made by .

Mercenary Dad

via: polypathos.tumblr.com It’s not just a head-canon made by fans that MacCready is a father. We know he has a kid out there from his personal quest in Fallout 4. But what if he has another kid with the sole survivor? The wasteland is a tough place to raise a child but if anyone could teach a kid to survive, it would be MacCready. After all, he survived without adults for a long time in Little Lamplight during the events of Fallout 3. Art was made by .

Luigi And Daisy

via: pinterest.com Daisy would definitely be the more competent parent in comparison to Luigi. Luigi is laid back, but he still constantly gets swept up in adventures. It’s cute that they have Chain Chomper as a pet. Those creatures look like they can do a ton of harm, but obviously friendly in this fan art. The overalls hint that the baby is definitely in the Mario family. Where’s the hat though? Mario and Luigi were born with their hats on in Yoshi’s Island. Artist is .

Luna And Noctis Story Time

via: pinterest.com They look like the coziest family in all of Eos. Those kids get to snuggle with stuffed moogles and chocobos. Noctis and Luna are storybook lovers in the sense that they knew each other since they were kids. If destiny was not so cruel to them, maybe this fan art could have been close to reality. The ending of the game broke a lot of hearts, so lots of fan fiction and fan art of happier endings exist in an attempt to heal. Artist is unknown.

Vexen And Xion

via: pinterest.com Xion is not human, but Vexen created her. In a way, he was a parent. From the Kingdom Hearts games, we rarely saw these two interact. Vexen would have been supremely cruel to Xion like with what we saw in his treatment of the Riku Repilica. He treated that Riku clone like he was a puppet, and he have treated Xion the same. Still, the fan art is beautiful and little Xion is adorable. The clothing style is fancy! Better than those dreary old robes from the games. Artist is unknown.

Ash And Serena

via: deviantart.com/novanoah According to the artist, Ash and Serena area in their 30s in this fan art. Ash if a gym leader and Serena is an actress. The children are Lara and Ivan, with Lara being a Pokémon trainer and Ivan being Oak’s elementary school student. Ash is shipped with so many people in the series. Examples include Misty, Brock, Barry, Cilan, Macy, Anabel, May, Lillie, Lana, Paul, Sammy, Clemont, Lyra, Zoey, Angie, Gary, Bianca, and even Latias, Aipom, and Pikachu. That’s a lot of romance gathered in twenty years. Art was made by .

Daddy Zevran

via: pinterest.com Zevran would be an interesting parent. He never knew his mother or father. His mother passed away when he was born and he was raised by her co-workers in a brothel until he was sold to the Crows of Antiva. Many fans joke that Zevran is not a good assassin since he has a lot of whacky stories and failed to kill you. It would be interesting to see him as a father since players know him as a complete flirt. Artist is unknown.

A Different Fallout 4

via: mooreaux.tumblr.com “Pistol packin’ Mama,” wrote the artist. “Or alternatively let me have a game where I get to tote around a baby PLEASE. "Also known as, I don’t know, somethin’ was wrong with her stasis pod and it wouldn’t open so they took Nate instead and Lily and Shaun will eventually find out ‘Father’ is a synth version of Nate he used to make himself the immortal leader of the Institute. So just as heartbreaking, but JUST LET ME KEEP THE BABY.” Art was made by .

Miu And Kokichi

via: reddit.com This is an unusual pairing, especially since Miu plotted to end Kokichi’s life. Even more of a case against their relationship is that Kokichi has called Miu cruel names that cannot even be repeated on this website. However its fan art, so every relationship is fair game. Maybe these characters learned to get a long and they did not meet tragic fates. Maybe without their ultimate personalities, they would hit it off. However, they seem to be discussing a backpack that can fly or punch people, so it seems they are still ultimates in this. Artist is unknown.

Grillby And Fuku Fire

via: pinterest.com Both of these characters exist in the Undertale canon. However there is no in-game relation between Gillby and Fuku Fire. They did look alike though, so a lot of fans theorized that they could be related. Fuku Fire’s school girl outfit was enough to hint that she’s a teenager, so if they were related, she would likely be Gillby’s daughter. The two seem like they’d make a very cute dynamic between a teenage girl and a quiet bartender dad. Artist is .

Kids And James Vega

via: reddit.com In Mass Effect 3, a lot of fans were disappointed when they found out that Vega was not a romance option, especially since he was somewhat of a flirt. As hard as it is to believe, the entire universe does not want to romance Commander Shepard. But hey, that’s what fanfiction and fan art is for. Vega does seem to care about the people around him, at least more so than some other characters. So bets are that he would be a good father. Artist is unknown.

Popplio Pups

via: funnyjunk.com Pokémon parenthood is a mostly untapped source of cute fan art. There is a famous comic of a Charmander being raised by a Ditto, but there is far less attention to Pokémon parenthood otherwise in the fandom world. Especially when compared to the amount of shipping, gijinkas, and crossovers. This is so cute though. The quirkiness of Popplio’s eyes, their floppy bodies, and button noses are to die for. Their parent will have to protect them from Pokémon trainers who want that cute creature of their team. Artist is .

Link s Parents And Sister

via: deviantart.com/beagletsuin No, that’s not older Link and Zelda, but the parents of Link in Wind Waker! It’s how the artist imagines they would look like anyway. The players never get to see the parents, just their grandmother. The parents are never even addressed. The sister, Aryll, gets taken because she’s mistaken for Princess Zelda. We never learn what happened to Link and Aryll’s parents. Most fans believe they are dead since Link grows up in a small island community. How did they die? We may never know. Art was made by .

Dogaressa And Dogamy

via: pinterest.com These lovebirds are Undertale mini-bosses that are part of the Royal Guard. Their love for each other is not understated, as many of their attacks are coordinated and use heart-shapes. They also wear shirts with the others picture on it. Drawing these two with a litter of puppies is just a no-brainer. Carrying the pups by wagon is an especially adorable idea. There are a lot of dog characters in Undertale, but these two were probably the most memorable next to Annoying Dog. Artist is unknown.

Anders And Baby

via: pinterest.com Ander is definitely one of the most controversial Dragon Age characters due to his actions at the end of Dragon Age 2. He is sort of possessed by an abomination! But still he has a lot of fans who just want to keep him safe despite his actions. If Anders could somehow separate himself from the corrupted spirit of Justice, then he would likely make a good father. We saw a lot of his original personality in Dragon Age Awakening, where he was far more laid back and into jokes. Artist is unknown.

Keyblade Family

via: Pinterest.com In a way, Terra and Aqua are like parents to Ventus, or at least like a big brother and sister. Ventus does not have memories of his past, so he does not have memories of parents. He only has Aqua, Terra, and their teacher as the closest thing to family. This artist took the family aspect more literally in this case and made Ventus a little kid. If Ventus was a little kid instead of a teenager, the Birth by Sleep game would have felt even more tragic. Art is by .

N7 Dad

via: pinterest.com If you pick the origin story where Shepard does not have a living family, then Captain Anderson is a lot like a dad to them. That’s part of what made many fans cry when Anderson told Shepard he was proud of them in Mass Effect 3. The completely exhausted expression on his face is fitting for all the responsibilities he has in the games. Add two babies to that and he basically would be a zombie. Also Vegas and Shepard are likely very tough babies to take care of. Art was made by .
