25 Sailor Moon Fan Theories We Can t Believe Are True
The original Sailor Moon anime had many fans creating theories and ideas. Here are 25 we can't believe turned out to be true! At the mere mention of Sailor Moon, I'm sure that you're immediately thinking of the girl who "fights evil by moonlight" and "wins love by daylight" that we're all so familiar with from the original DiC anime. Contrary to what many take as canon from this show, it was a pretty far reach from the world that was painted by the manga that inspired it all. This was remedied with the creation of Sailor Moon Crystal and with it, plenty of fan theories were also answered. Where the original depiction uses censorship and simplified the story—leaving out crucial information—Sailor Moon Crystal has done a much more worthy job of filling in those gaps and giving us the real story. Usagi Tsukino has a long (a very long) history that's rather tragic but also inspiring and it's also one that many fans have drawn their own conclusions for. There's no saying whether or not all of the questions you have about these evil-fighting sailor scouts will ever be answered, but we have the facts for some of the most common theories. While many of these were proven correct during the reboot, some have even been answered by the manga itself. At one point, though, they were all just a thought in our mind followed by a "whaaat?! No way!" from our younger, easily awe-inspired selves. Here are 25 of the biggest theories and answers from one of the greatest manga/anime series of our generation. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Your Instinct Was Right Sailor V Is The Leader
via: youtube.com As it was originally stated in the early 90s anime, Sailor Venus went from being a super-cool video game character to actually existing in real life as a missing sailor scout. There was always a question mark over her head, though, as fans tried to figure out why she was singled out... This was something the original anime never quite answered. As it turns out, Sailor V was actually the defacto leader of the group. Usagi was rightfully meant to take her place as the next Silver Millenium Queen—Neo Serenity—thus her duty fell elsewhere. Sailor Uranus And Sailor Neptune Were Not Really Cousins
youtube.com It was a rather large stretch to make claims that these two were family and it was something that many manga fans, myself included, were not happy with. Haruka and Michiru are actually in a relationship, something that many countries, not just the US, censored during the production of the anime. They were seemingly unusually close even as cousins and while there were nods to the manga, it wasn't until Sailor Moon Crystal when the anime gave these scouts their due anime love. Chibiusa Is Someone s Daughter Alright
http://sailormoonnews.com You'll find this out relatively fast in the reboot, but this is yet another thing that's not increasingly clear. Chibiusa, the tiny pink-haired child who quite literally falls from the sky, has a stronger connection to Mamoru and Usagi than everyone thinks. She traveled from 900 years in the future to save her "mommy and daddy" who remain a complete mystery until Usagi and Mamoru finally meet them... And realize that they're staring at their future selves. Mamoru Tuxedo Mask Is Basically The Earth Guardian
http://deusexmagicalgirl.com One fan theory that seems to gather more and more evidence to back it up is that Mamoru (Tuxedo Mask a.k.a. King Endymion) is actually the "missing" earth sailor scout. Fans often wondered who was representing earth since every other planet is represented, but it's one of those things that's so obvious, you don't quite realize it immediately. It was Mamoru's job to protect and rule over the earth, as it stated in the history of how he and Usagi met for the first time. Sailor Saturn Is Unique In More Ways Than One
via: thegalaxycauldronforums.com What a tortured history this scout had. Sailor Saturn is considered one of the Outer Senshi and is first introduced as part of the Infinity Arc in the manga. Her power is of great, nearly unimaginable, strength, as she self-destructs when using her ultimate attack only to be reborn when needed again. This ties in flawlessly with her "human" life on earth. Following a terrible accident, her father saves her by making her half human, half machine, thus turning Hotaru into a cyborg until her scout awakening. King Endymion Might Have Had A Tragic Childhood But He Wasn t Alone
http://animesuperfan25.blogspot.com In Sailor Moon R, we find out that Tuxedo Mask didn't lead as lonely a life as he'd initially believed. While all of the scouts had been reincarnated and given human lives, Mamoru was left parentless with zero memories of his childhood. This was another void for fans as they tried to figure out why Mamoru was so alone and why he was the only who led that life, until Promose of the Rose. In this movie, Fiore is introduced as an ex-best friend as well as a devious antagonist. Cat Familiars Are Something More Who Are Luna And Artemis Really
http://sailormoonnews.com Are they humans? Androids? Secret scouts? None of the above... They're actually familiars and fans have theorized that they're also somewhat of an alien race from the moon. This makes sense when considering their uncanny powers and ability to sense things before they happen. However, on the moon, they'd just be considered "familiars" or "protectors" rather than an "alien species." Fans have likened them to a normalcy in the Moon Kingdom which is why they seem so strange on earth. Queen Serenity Is Fairy-Like For A Good Reason
smrp.ethereal-visions.net There's a reason that Queen Serenity appears with wings, something you might have noticed in Sailor Moon Crystal. Naoko Takeuchi didn't originally intend for Queen Serenity to have a human form when she finally sees her daughter again (in spirit form, anyway). Rather, she was almost brought back as a fairy, which would explain her fairy-like appearance and wings in the reboot as a nod to the manga. She was also supposed to go by the name Diana, which ended up being the name of Luna and Artemis' future kitten. Usagi s Name Means So Much More Especially For Chibiusa
https://www.zerochan.net One of the first things Chibiusa says when she meets her parents from the past is that her name is Usagi. While it is a nod to Usagi being her birth mother, there's also a meaning within Usagi's full name that soon becomes a nickname for Chibiusa. Usagi Tsukino is translated to "rabbit of the moon" which references Usagi being called "bunny" and Chibiusa gaining the name "rabbit." The Term Scout Has Nothing To Do With Their Actual Title
via: descubriendomilhistorias.blogspot.com In fact, the term "scout" is quite misleading when it comes to what the scouts actually are. In Japan, they're referred to as Senshi and viewed as warriors. Many fans figured out from the get-go that these epic fighters weren't just intended to look adorable and fight like girls. The American version of the anime made them out to be much less while in Japan, they're more superheroes than anything. Time Travel Has Seriously Thrown The Scouts A Curveball
http://sailormoonnews.com When Usagi, Mamoru, and the scouts travel to the future—900 years, to be exact—they learn that their presence in such close quarters to their future selves can be detrimental. They seemingly begin losing themselves and disappearing as the time-space paradox takes its toll on the mismatched timeline. This is a partial reasoning for the trouble that follows Chibiusa, as it's no secret that she's a constant traveler and has a tendency to interfere where she shouldn't. Fate And Destiny Or Luck And A Little Help From Her Friends
https://www.sailormooncollectibles.com There's question as to whether or not Usagi ever would have awakened fully were it not for her sailor scout friends and Mamoru. While he couldn't remember his own life, he seemed to remember Princess Serenity just fine, and it's these memories that trigger her eventual awakening. However, had they never found each other, would they be destined to live out their lives as humans? Or would fate have brought them together regardless, despite constant protests from Luna that he can't be trusted? The Connection Between Folklore And The Anime Manga
https://www.wallpaperup.com If you pay close enough attention, there are seemingly endless nods to Greek mythology. From the planets to each of the scouts' powers, they're all governed by something that likely would have been approved by the Greeks. Each planet ruling, as well as the elemental attacks and even their physical representation and planet symbols, is a nod to mythology. For example, Endymion was a human who fell in love with a goddess named Selene, who happened to be the goddess of the moon. Each of the scouts is representative of gods and goddess as well, despite their gender. Let s Talk About The Legendary Silver Crystal
https://nikkisee.com It has been debated that the legendary silver crystal is anything from a regular crystal to a magical gem that's tied completely to Princess Serenity's soul. When going over the evidence, it would be more likely that the latter is true. During the destruction of the Moon Kingdom, i.e. Crystal Tokyo, Neo-Queen Serenity is engulfed by the crystal almost as if it's protecting her from Nemesis and the Dark Moon. Given the transgressions whenever the crystal is involved, it's easy to believe that it is actually part of the Neo-Queen. How Does Tuxedo Mask Constantly Know When To Rescue Usagi
youtube.com This is something that fans have questioned since first seeing the original anime. Much to Luna's pleas for Usagi to stay away from Mamoru, he just keeps showing up... And always at the best of times. How does he know when to show up, though? It would seem that they are indeed connected by fate and though it seems that Mamoru is a bit of a stalker, he's really just intertwined with Usagi on another level. Their love transcends time, space, and their current human state. Are They Destined To Keep Repeating History
http://sailormoonnews.com It would appear that no, scouts, Usagi, and Mamoru won't always be roped into carrying out the same tragic fate. However, they do need to repeat similar behaviors and the reason for this is that anyone born or married into the royal moon family lives for 1,000 years. Since they have all been reincarnated, certain behaviors must be repeated in order to amend the past and follow the correct path, such as is seen in Crystal when Usagi takes Mamoru out with his own sword and then falls on the blade herself. The Ultimate Sacrifice Giving Up Their Scout Powers
https://stageinthesky.com Shortly before the previously mentioned scene, the scouts make the ultimate sacrifice to save Princess Serenity. This is their duty, after all, to lay their life down on the line if necessary. Once this is done, it seems that there's no getting their powers back until Luna greets them all with new transformation pens. The theory behind this is that there was a "reset" when they sacrificed themselves, similar to a reincarnation, but done through Serenity's own power. The Black Lady And King Endymion A Twisted Love Triangle
http://sailormoonnews.com Although it is mildly disturbing to realize that the Black Lady is actually Chibusa all grown-up and villain-ish, there's a solid reason for her love affair with Mamoru. As an evil queen, not only has she taken on a new persona, but she's thriving on her jealousy that came to fruition when meeting young Usagi, a.k.a. her young mother-to-be. The taking on of this new personality turns her into someone different entirely, leaving she and Mamoru in the clear while disturbing Usagi on a deep level. Why Does No One Recognize Usagi As Sailor Moon
http://sailormooncrystal.wikia.com Whether she's turning into a flight attendant to follow the demon bus or a doctor to save Ami, no one seems to realize who she really is. For starters, anytime Sailor Moon does need to transform, much of society ends up brainwashed and under the control of Queen Beryl. Therefore, no one would remember her anyway. Not to mention, her personality as a human teenager is the complete opposite of her true Sailor Moon persona, widening the gap between teen and heroine. Chibiusa Has A 900-Year Old Secret
https://homesecurity.press Chibiusa seems to have a solid grasp on the future and on things that the scouts are still learning, and the reason behind this is that she's nearly 1,000 years old. Tiny Chibiusa never ages and part of the reasoning for this could be her constant time travel. Not much is known about her life before she began skipping centuries but the conclusion can be drawn that she hasn't fully awakened yet. This could be due in part to the fact that the destruction of Crystal Tokyo has her time-jumping to be with her younger parents.
