Sony Won t Be Attending PAX East Over Concerns Of Coronavirus

Sony won't be attending PAX East this year over concerns about the spread of the coronavirus. With the coronavirus epidemic in China making headlines around the world, it seems some publishers are getting scared of attending any events in the near future. In a last-minute decision by Sony, PlayStation will not be coming to . Citing concerns over coronavirus, Sony officials made the tough call as it puts the safety of its employees above everything (as it should). "Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as 'novel coronavirus')," reads an update on the official PlayStation Blog. "We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern." With this being the last real chance before release, fans will have to just wait and see if these games are worth buying into. I don't think the coronavirus will be a big concern at Boston next week, but even I would err on the side of caution when it comes to my workforce. No one should lose their life just to promote/play a video game. That title is going to be there tomorrow and the day after, so it's better to wait patiently. These developers have put their hearts and souls into their work and they deserve to be able to show it off without fear of catching some disease.
