On the side of things, the Magic World Championship XXVI will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii, featuring the top sixteen players in the world vying for over $1,000,000 in prizes. Players will not only be able to watch the action as it unfolds, there will also be a Draft portion of the event available through a Direct Challenge between players in Arena in a Limited Tournament Match that follows the rules of other Best-of-Three Draft format. One of the more interesting additions for February comes in the form of a temporary addition to the game. All sixteen tournament players will have their decks available for selection in Arena, and players will be able to select their favorite and face off against other players in Best-of-One matches. Do you have what it takes to dominate your opponents with the same decks used by the best players in the world? Later in the month, beginning February 22, a new event will become available once a week and last for a total of three days. As usual, each event will cost either 2,500 gold or 500 gems to enter. The events are as follows: Fires of Purphoros: Standard Artisan Nylea's Call of the Wild: Giant Monsters Emblem Heliod's Glory: Immortal Sun Emblem Erebos's Memoir of Death: Historic Brawl Thassa's Briny Bounty: 150-card Preconstructed Singleton Via: magic.wizards.com In addition, players will now be able to add Nyx basic lands and other constellation-themed card styles to their collections through bundles in the store. To expand on the types of events that do not require any form of entry fee, Arena is seeing the addition of Workshops. These will be limited-time events that provide players with a way to experiment with the diverse range of formats available in the game, but without the need to spend their hard-earned currency on something they may not enjoy or excel at due to a lack of previous exposure. In February, the following Workshop events will be made available for players to try: Power and Glory, a brawl with decks provided by Arena to test. Heros of , which tasks players to use Limited decks drafted by other players who managed to earn a 7–X record. These decks clearly have the potential to reach the top, but do you have the skills to pilot them? Uncharted Paths task players to work with Standard Constructed decks purposefully designed to be a little off-meta. Are they competitively viable? Probably not. Are they fun? Oh my, absolutely!
