Critical Role s Best Moments - Campaign 2 Episode 92

There were some amazing moments this week both in and out of character, including an Abyssal rendition of Sweet Caroline. via Critical Role This past week's episode of featured a variety of moments, from taste-testing foods that should never be paired with whipped cream to Beau reuniting with a part of her past. Below are what we believe are the best moments of campaign 2, episode 92 of this beloved show. As a friendly warning: spoilers for campaign 2, episode 92 ahead!

Is Sweeter Worse Or Better

Sam always comes up with the most...unique ad spots each week. This week's advertisement was for Hero Forge, with the overarching theme being that their service makes everything sweeter. We can always count on Sam for the creativity (and messiness) of his choices for showcasing the ads he does each week. This week he tried to prove the point that for the most part, making things sweeter is better. A selection of food items that should never, ever be paired with whipped cream was paired with...whipped cream... to the dismay at literally everyone at the table (and most of the audience, I'm sure). The result was messy, gross, slightly disturbing, but overall hilarious as Sam's ads usually are. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Sweet Caroline But In Abyssal

The Mighty Nein (jokingly) suggested going to a karaoke bar during their time in Rexxentrum, and Nott mentions that there's always a go-to song she picks: Sweet Caroline. Yasha asks Nott if she could sing it for them, and Nott tries to make the excuse that it's in Abyssal so that she doesn't (or rather, Sam doesn't) have to actually sing the song. Turns out Yasha actually can speak Abyssal, so Nott is coerced into singing so everyone at the table gets the chance to enjoy Nott's awful rendition of Sweet Caroline.

The Witch Catches Jester Scrying On Her

After the spell to give Nott a new body failed in the episode before this and it was clear that the mage's spell on Nott was not easily broken, the Mighty Nein designated efforts to discover who this mage is. They went to the Cobalt Soul's library in Rexxentrum to do some research. There, Nott used Disguise Self to transform herself as best as she can into the mage that lay the curse on her all that time ago. Jester used that image of the mage to scry on her, where she found the otherworldly magical being (as portrayed very creepily by Matt Mercer in the image below) in her hut on a rocky cliff. Unfortunately, the mage (which may very well be the same witch that read Beau's father's fortune) noticed the scrying orb almost immediately and cut the connection soon after discovering it. via Critical Role

Beau Reunites With Her Family

The mage in Nott's story resonated with Beau as it reminded her of a witch her father would always tell stories about. Beau's father (Thoreau), once upon a time, traveled to a witch's hut in search of good fortune because he figured he had nothing left to lose. As a result, he was able to plant grapes and make wine on land that was previously thought to be barren and unyielding. He built a wine empire and had the opportunity to marry a wealthy woman and have a family. The Mighty Nein then wondered if the witch in Beau's father's history was the same mage that cursed Nott. The Mighty Nein made their way to the place where Beau grew up in search of information regarding how to find this witch. It was an awkward reunion since Beau and her parents didn't exactly separate on amicable terms. This is the first time Beauregard met Thoreau Jr., her 2-year-old brother, the son her parents always wanted. The whole scene was hard to watch. Although Beau's mother Clara seems nice enough, she is annoyingly passive about the way Thoreau treats Beau, and Thoreau refuses to take responsibility for his bad parenting and continuously gaslights Beau.
