Puyo Puyo series producer Mizuki Hosoyamada retweeted the Super Smash Bros. announcement, so it's clearly evidence. The speculation as to who will be the next fighter to join e is loudly ramping up heading into Thursday's announcement of said fighter. Many theories have been circulating, but a new one includes someone from the Puyo Puyo series. When the of the next fighter's announcement was sent out on January 14, it set the internet ablaze, causing those on social media to plead with Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai about the next fighter or guessing who the next roster character will be. When Puyo Puyo series producer Mizuki Hosoyamada retweeted Sakurai's post, it caused one Twitter user to theorize about Puyo Puyo's involvement in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Of course, Tracker_TD is merely speculating about the fact that someone highly involved with the Puyo Puyo series expressed interest enough to retweet Sakurai's announcement. However, it does cause one to think who would possibly be coming from the Puyo Puyo games. One of the first characters that comes to mind is Arle, who is one of the main protagonists throughout the Puyo Puyo games. As for a tentative appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she would easily fit in with the anime-like aesthetic of the Dragon Quest fighters and would possess an array of magic abilities in the style of Ness or Lucas. As for her Final Smash, it could be any number of things, including that of mesmerizing opponents with an array of flowers. While Mizuki's retweet is highly suspect, it could well be the act of someone in the same industry who greatly respects the series or its creator. However, it certainly outside the realm of possibility that a Puyo Puyo character could join the fight. Other pervasive theories right now include Dante from the Devil May Cry series as per mounting evidence that suggests his eventual addition. Less prevalent ones include the likes of Waluigi, Master Chief from Halo and Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series. Whoever the next fighter is, we will all know soon.
