TheGamer News Team s Streamers Of The Decade
We continue our "Best of the Decade" coverage with TheGamer News Team's Streamers of the Decade! Streaming would be nothing without the personalities who helped build up the platforms and became superstars themselves. We continue our "Best of the Decade" coverage with TheGamer News Team's Streamers of the Decade! Honorable Mentions: Ninja, Markiplier, The Game Grumps, PewDiePie Whitney Meers - DrLupo
DrLupo rose to prominence playing Destiny and later, Fortnite. Since he began streaming in 2013, he's cultivated a strong community of more than 3.7 million Twitch followers. But it's not fame or notoriety that seems to drive DrLupo. Not only has he positively impacted the lives of millions of viewers through his humor and thoughtful commentary, but he's also leveraged his influence to help raise millions of dollars for charitable causes. Earlier this year, he and his community raised a record-breaking $920,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in a single 4.5-hour stream. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Eric Switzer - GrandPoohbear
via Twitch GrandPoohbear is one of the most positive forces on the platform and an entertainer that all streamers should strive to emulate. His sincerity and engagement with fans is unrivaled on Twitch, and his talent for playing Super Mario is a true delight to watch. Pooh is an important figure in the speedrunning community and has used his popularity for charitable causes like the annual Mario Master's Colosseum. GrandPoohbear represents everything good about Twitch. Helen Ashcroft - RoryPlays Twitch
via Twitter Rory’s streaming journey has huge heart behind it. She battles against the odds to stream, entertain, and raise awareness of disabled gamers. She’s worked hard to build a channel that reflects her personality and interests and offers a safe haven for all. Open about her disabilities and limits, she’s also a great role model for others. Despite setbacks, she works tirelessly to grow an inclusive, caring, and supportive community where viewers are entertained and welcomed. Helen Ashcroft - Stampy Longnose YouTube
via Guinness World Records Stampy Longnose is a staple in my house. His videos are entertaining and engaging, especially if ballistic squid is also involved. As a parent, I know I can let my children watch his content and it will be funny, enjoyable, and appropriate. He even did some educational videos which genuinely taught my son about the solar system. Even as a grown-up, he’s one of the few child-centric YouTubers I will happily watch. Sam Watanuki - Ducksauce
via Twitter Matthew "Ducksauce" Rhode has been streaming since the early days of Twitch, and has just returned from a roughly three year hiatus. I want to say he was even dabbling in streaming during the Justin.tv days, but might be imagining that. At any rate, Ducksauce was the first streamer that ever really stuck with me. I found myself watching his streams for both the entertainment, as well as just marveling at his incredible voice (which he uses for voiceover work, rightfully so). He (and his home studio setup) inspired , which is why he is my personal choice for Streamer of the Decade.
