Though Sony has now allowed Playstation fans to update their PSN ID, some games are unable to properly support the change. Though fans are now , this has created a few issues with games. In fact, there might be when it comes to changing your ID, as some games are unable to properly support the change. For anyone who chose their handle back when PSN first came out, the opportunity to change it at last is a great relief. The first rename will be free, then subsequent ones will attract a small charge. However, the change has not been seamless or problem free. While most games released after April 1 are said to support the changing of IDs, there appear to be a couple of exceptions. Some older titles are also having issues, with some more major than others. They include previous ID(s) remaining visible or your online ID being no longer visible in a game title, for example in rankings or on scoreboards. Certain game settings may also be reverted to their default state. For some games, these issues can be resolved simply by signing in and out. User accounts on the PlayStation may also unlink and have to be relinked.
