One month later, a member of the athletics department at Georgetown put a Butler athletics staff member in touch with Van Gundy, who was more than willing to meet Martin in Indiana during the NBA playoffs, where Van Gundy was calling Game 3 of the Indiana Pacers-Cleveland Cavaliers series. Because of time constraints, the pair did not share a meal but settled on meeting in a hotel lobby.
