10 Of The Smallest Pokémon In The Series Ranked

While Furret is a terrifying 6 feet in legnth, these Pokémon are quite small, the smallest, in fact. come in all shapes and sizes, some big, some small, and some in sizes that might actually surprise you. Some Pokémon are much larger than you'd expect, and some are much smaller. But, which are the smallest? Some species come as small a few inches, despite their in-game sprites implying otherwise. Taking a look at the sizes of the smallest Pokémon, you'll noticed that there are several dozen smaller than a foot tall. This includes some legendaries and many Bug-types. Here are some of the smallest Pokémon, including some you may not have realized were so tiny. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Lake Guardians

These three legendaries take a central role in the plotline of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl as part of Team Galactic's plans to summon the power of Dialga and Palkia. While getting lost in the , the player will meet all three of these legendaries — often referred to as the Lake Guardians or Emotion Trio. Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are surprisingly small given their large stature in the Sinnoh region and its legends. Each measures only about a foot tall (about 0.3 m). They definitely don't seem that small in the games or the anime, but the Pokédex doesn't lie.

Generation II Babies

Another group of three — these little Fairy-types were introduced in Generation II as the first of a long-running tradition of Baby Pokémon: pre-evolutions to base stage Pokémon. Cleffa and Igglybuff are the pre-evolutions to Clefairy and Jigglypuff, respectively, while Togepi is a new line (despite ). As if these three weren't cute enough, it turns out they're also tiny. They measure only 12 inches tall each (about 30 cm). It's funny to think about these itty-bitty babies, but that's Pokémon after all.

Klefki

This little Generation-VI Pokémon is based on a keyring and even possibly the old wive's tale that fairies steal keys when you're not looking. It's unsurprisingly small, clocking in around 1-foot like the Lake Guardians and Generation II babies. What's interesting about Klefki is that the keys it is always shown with are not actually part of the Pokémon. Rather, the ring is a part of its body, and it collects keys it likes. Also, it's said that Klefki will never let go of a key it likes, so people entrust it with important ones. Given its size, you could actually use this Pokémon as a keyring!

Meltan

Meltan splits opinions on its cuteness. Some think it's weird and creepy, while others think it's pretty adorable. It's definitely a strange idea for a Pokémon, being made of liquid metal that forms a Ditto-like body with a nut on top. When several Meltan , Meltan's evolution. While Melmetal measures an insane 8'02" (2.5 m), Meltan is only eight inches (about 0.2 m). These little guys form in herds, as seen with Ash and friends finding Meltan in the anime. It's cute to think about these little clueless guys forming some huge metal beast.

Shaymin

via: pokemon.wikia.com is a mythical Pokémon, which might imply that it has some physical prowess. It does, of course, but not because of its stature. Land Forme Shaymin is only eight inches tall (0.2 m), making it one of the smallest Pokémon ever. Its Sky Forme is a nice 1'04" (0.4 m), which is still very small, but it's much bigger. If you think about Shaymin's hedgehog-based origins, it makes sense that it's small. It's strange that the Shaymin in the anime thought Giratina wanted to eat Shaymin. Giratina is a multi-dimensional ghost god, Shaymin would be like a crumb to it.

Wishiwashi

This Alolan fish was basically created to represent sadness, weakness, and being pathetic. It's always shown crying and in despair, and its stats are some of the worst across every Pokémon game. Wishiwashi's gimmick comes in its ability, where it forms with a ton of other Wishiwashi to make a giant monster with great stats. It makes sense, then, that Wishiwashi in its normal, unschooled form is tiny since it's supposed to be so pathetic. It measures the same as Shaymin and Meltan at a minuscule eight inches (20 cm).

Azurill

If you thought the size of Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Togepi was adorable, you're going to be delighted to hear about Azurill. This baby Pokémon, which is the pre-evolution of Marrill, measures an entire four inches (ten centimeters) shorter than the others. This tiny, tiny little guy bounces around on its tail and is basically one of the cutest things in the Pokémon universe. It also has the lowest base stat total of all baby Pokémon. How sad, yet adorable. Evolving through friendship isn't a pain when it comes to this little guy, who you'll be sure to be nice to. How can you not?

Cosmoem

Cosmoem is a fascinating Pokémon. It's part of the first legendary family that evolves and its evolution has some interesting traits. When evolving from Cosmog to Cosmoem, this thing will go from eight inches tall and 0.2 lbs (0.1 kg) to half the height but 2204.4 lbs (999.9 kg). That's a weight increase of about 999,800 percent. If that doesn't remind you of weighing yourself before and after the holidays, it's pretty hilarious. Because of this weight and height disparity, Cosmoem clocks in as one of the heaviest Pokémon while simultaneously one of the smallest, possibly to mock the density of a black hole in real life. How Pikachu manages to lift it in the anime is still unsolved.

Flabébé

Many people think Flabébé is a flower with a little face, but the flower isn't actually part of the Pokémon. Flabébé is actually just the little Fairy-sprite that chooses a favorite flower and holds onto it. This might explain why it's Fairy-type but not Grass-type. Regardless, Flabébé must be pretty small to ride around on a little flower. And that's correct — Flabébé is only four inches tall (10 cm). It's tied with Joltik, Cosmoem, and a few others as the smallest Pokémon, and tied for the lightest Pokémon as well.

Joltik

This tiny electric bug is adorably small. Joltik is actually often used as the example of the smallest Pokémon, but it's actually tied with a few others. This small Electric/Bug-type is based on a small spider. It's too small to really do much of anything, including creating its own electricity. It instead thrives off of other Pokémon's static electricity. Luckily, it won't be so tiny when it evolves. After becoming a Galvantula, it'll measure just over two feet (80 centimeters). While this still isn't huge, at least it'll be able to avoid being stepped on.
