Final Fantasy VII The 80s Love Song That Describes Each Character

Final Fantasy VII brings a lot of emotions with the gameplay, emotions that can only be described by 80s love songs. Although Final Fantasy VII is an epic fantasy adventure, with exciting gameplay and challenging bosses. However, it's the love story at the heart of the game that really makes it a memorable game. And with news that the love story is likely to be played up even more in the remake, it's a good idea to look at our characters through this lens. And what better way to do this than by using 80s love songs--the decade of the gushiest love songs with the smoothest synth sounds available to pop music? THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Cid Highwind On the Wings of Love

We understand that the whole notion of describing a rough-and-tumble character like Cid Highwind with a love song is a bit problematic, but trust us, the guy's a big softie under that gruff exterior. And we imagine that although he might never have found love in his own life, he's still prone to romantic musings, including a little singing to himself now and again. And if he does, this is the perfect song for him, with soaring vocals and sentiments that can rise as high as the Highwind or even his beloved Tiny Bronco.

Cait Sith Against All Odds Take A Look At Me Now

Cait Sith is a robotic cat who loves to gamble. As he is in the gambler class, he has two abilities: Dice and Slots that let you take a risk in battle, and sometimes, "Against All Odds," you might win. But there are two more reasons why this is a great song for Cait Sith. First, he is short and might sympathize with singer Phil Collins' struggles to get respect despite his obvious talent. Second, the subtitle calls attention to Cait Sith's struggle for recognition as a truly sentient individual, and not just a robot.

Yuffie Kisaragi Love Is A Battlefield

Yuffie is a fighter, fiercely striving to regain the honor of her hometown. And because she's a fighter, she doesn't join Cloud's merry little band easily. First, she must be defeated, then she gets herself kidnapped with all your material, so you have to rescue her as a . "Love Is a Battlefield," indeed. However, once you earn her loyalty, she becomes a true member of the party and gives it her utmost. She may be young, but she's strong, and she'll stand with you, heartache to heartache.

Jenova Tainted Love

is the alien life form that has come to Gaia to corrupt and destroy it. When Jenova came to this world, it first took the form of a virus that infected and destroyed the ancient Cetra. Although Jenova's cells can be used to create hybrids of incredible power, they also corrupt the creatures they inhabit. In fact, this is the torment at the heart of Sephiroth's desire to destroy the world. Therefore, no song describes Jenova quite so well as Soft Cell's iconic cover of "Tainted Love."

Red XIII Faithfully

As might be expected for a doglike creature, Red XIII's story is one of faithfully keeping his promises and remaining devoted to people and causes that matter to him. First, when he is released and he joints Cloud's party, he stays with them until they reach his people's home in Cosmo Canyon. And at Cosmo Canyon, Red XIII learns of his father's faithfulness to duty and pledges to live up to his father's model. Finally, when Bugenhagen falls ill, it is Red XIII alone who rushes to his bedside. Therefore, Journey's power ballad "Faithfully" describes him perfectly. His history of captivity and servitude is even a dim reflection of the song's circus metaphor for a traveling band.

Barrett Wallace We re In This Love Together

Barrett isn't someone who really would choose to fight if the world were a different place. However. the world is what it is, and he's a man who's deeply devoted to his duty. He may be a gruff man on the outside, a brash man with a gun for an arm, but he's really a devoted and loving father. He desperately wants to be with his daughter Marlene, but he needs to save the planet in order to make that possible. He feels a strong companionship, almost a paternal feeling, for his fellow fighters, and that makes Al Jarreau's ballad "We're In This Love Together," a perfect choice for him.

Sephiroth Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Sephiroth is not inherently evil. He was one of the greatest successes of the SOLDIER program, receiving Jenova cells to help him become a more powerful fighter. But when he discovers his origin, he feels betrayed and turns against his former masters, deciding to destroy the world with the materia Meteor in the hopes that he can eclipse Gaia's healing lifestream for his personal augmentation. Thus Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," is doubly appropriate for him, capturing both his past betrayal and his future plans. (Also, he could totally be called "bright eyes" in the new trailer.)

Tifa Lockhart Time After Time

is Cloud's long-suffering friend and, potentially, the love of his life. A childhood friend, she reunites with him and brings him into the Avalanche rebellion. She is also the party's proverbial mother figure, supporting everyone emotionally as well as physically with the strength of her martial arts attacks. This makes Cyndi Lauper's breakthrough ballad a great choice. It's the story of someone you can always count on to be there for you, and that is Tifa: the truest friend and the most dedicated lover.

Aerith Gainsborough Take On Me

As the flower girl, Aerith is an unlikely addition to Cloud's party. Although she is completely capable when it comes to contributing to the party, she is not a fighter by background. Her abilities, although powerful, tend to be protective and healing. They help the party to survive rather than taking down the enemy. The way Aerith gets swept up from her life as a flower girl into the world of combat and materia is very similar to this classic song's iconic video, whose sketched hero bears more than a passing resemblance to Cloud (though sans the huge sword, obviously).

Cloud Strife The Search Is Over

Cloud is not a character who is really dedicated to finding love. Quite to the frustration of the women in his life, he is focused on other things, though not so exclusively as to be completely disinterested. That makes this Survivor song a perfect choice. Although he is a man dedicated more to his quest for saving the world than he is to his love life when he does find love, he finds it as in the song: she was with him all the while (and that's true whether you think his true love is Tifa or Aerith).
