The Witcher 5 Game Romances We d Love To See In The Show & 5 We Could Do Without

Show-watchers don't get to see the full extent of Geralt's romances in The Witcher. There are some we'd like to see, but others we can skip. Despite being a disfigured mutant who's supposed to be a senior citizen in terms of lifespan, Geralt of Rivia still gets more action most young people these days. This statement is both true for the books and especially the video games. Suffice to say, Geralt has no shortage of romantic trysts and liaisons. Some of them are fleeting and casual while others are drawn-out and passionate. The show meanwhile, doesn't get the luxury of showing Geralt's bachelor tendencies especially as soon as he's met Yennefer. That's why some fans of the video games would have been delighted to see more than Geralt's masochistic romance with Yennefer. Now, since because we're all wishful thinkers here, we already have our pick of some Witcher video game romances that would have worked well in the show and five others that just won't. LOVE TO SEE SYANNA

Syanna was The Witcher 3's analog for Renfri, who was also in the show. Renfri being present in the show (as she had been in the books) pretty much makes Syanna also present. Too bad Renfri died too early after meeting Geralt as was the canon. However, you can't just deny the potential chemistry between the two thanks to the actress and the similar background between these two broken humans. Syanna could well be another opportunity for Geralt to find someone whom he shares a common background with. Even in-game Geralt and Syanna already had some undeniable chemistry. Both of them were hated by humans and had rough or nonexistent childhoods. She might even give Yennefer a run for her money when it comes to connecting with Geralt on an emotional level.

NOT VAMPIRES

This happened way too often in the first . Apparently, the developers were intent on making Geralt quite a horndog back in those days. As such, Geralt just couldn't resist a tryst in a brothel owned by a female high-brow vampire nicknamed Queen of the Night. So you can probably imagine what she looked like. On top of that, she also has her own vampiric entourage with her who joined in on the fun with Geralt. It was a horrific vampire bacchanalia which Geralt shamelessly dived into. That right there is True Blood territory and something that would look out-of-place in the Netflix show, though HBO might have a different say if they helmed the adaptation instead.

LOVE TO SEE JUTTA AN DIMUN

It's rare to see Geralt forming a connection or intimacy with rough maidens of war. Most of who he romanced are sorceresses, lady bards, and prostitutes. Hence, Jutta an Dimun from the Skellige Isles of the third Witcher game was a breath of fresh air for Geralt. Jutta is a shieldmaiden who prides on being undefeated by male warriors on her island. This was a piece of cake for Geralt since he's basically cheating with his mutant powers. Even so, what the two shared in a brief sexual cutscene and post-coital cuddle is more meaningful than most of Geralt's flings. Jutta was essentially a reflection of Geralt physically with an innumerable number of battle scars all over her body and had similar experiences being a wandering warrior. Such a character would fit in well in the show.

NOT WITCHES

You heard it here first, witchers love witches. At least that's Geralt's case is in the first game. He did sleep with a bunch of vampire ladies, anyway so what's a witch? The witch's name is Abigail, by the way, and is one of the earliest conflicts Geralt has faced in the first game where a judgmental local town population blames Abigail for all the negative phenomena going on. As Geralt, you can choose to sleep with her first and then decide to save her or let the lynch mob have their way. It's definitely a weird and unstrategic trade but coitus with a witch apparently isn't that hot unless you like using blood as a lubricant or can stomach her true form. Really, the vampires were more preferable.

LOVE TO SEE VES

Ves is pretty similar to Jutta an Dimun since she's a member of the Blue Stripes. They're a commando regiment of Temeria and they used to serve King Foltest. Ves was taken in and adopted by Vernon Roche, the leader of the Blue Stripes and he has been her father figure ever since. As you can imagine, Geralt and Ves immediately became compatible due to being in the same field and having the same background. This made Ves an optional romantic option in The Witcher 2. Seeing her in the show as one of Geralt's rebounds for his breakups with Yennefer ought to be nostalgic fan service.

NOT TRISS

Triss has always been at least infatuated with Geralt in the later Witcher books. This does make her a potential third party in Geralt and Yennefer's relationships but seeing as the Netflix show strictly follows the books, the can get from Geralt is likely a kiss on the cheek. The games did take their liberty with Triss and Geralt and included a full-blown romance between the two in the span of three games. Sadly, this grand tryst with Triss likely won't blossom in the show since it's too busy making Geralt and Yennefer break up and make up way too many times, besides, it would complicate the plot unnecessarily.

LOVE TO SEE SHANI

Like Triss, Shani was never really meant to be a major character in the books. Her appearances there were brief but rather important since she helped save Geralt. Unlike Triss though, Shani having a romantic connection with Geralt will not complicate the plot needlessly. She's just one of Geralt's friends and while they like each other in the games, it's not enough to make them pursue each other or replace Yennefer. She could appear as one of Geralt's transient respites and rebounds while managing his pain and heartbreak with Yennefer, which is bound to happen a lot.

NOT KEIRA METZ

Like Shani and Triss, Keira Metz isn't supposed to have a spotlight comparable to the main characters. Keira's appearance in the books is even shorter than in the games. Nevertheless, making Keira and Geralt have a connection in the show would be odd since the two never had that much history. For the record and in the books, the only other sorceress Geralt had romantic and sexual ties with is Fringilla Vigo. That's something that needs to happen if the show wants to follow the books. As it is, making room for a Keira Metz and Geralt romance would likely put more flaws into the show's already crammed storytelling.

LOVE TO SEE THE LADY OF THE LAKE

We're back to The Witcher (first game) and as expected, Geralt gets the opportunity to have sex with the most unique women in the game. This time around, it's the legendary Lady of the Lake, taken directly from King Arthur's legends. The game handles the Lady as a respectable yet er "liberated" woman who will get intimate with the right words. For many who have played the first game, this sexual encounter was blindsiding and unexpected. It's not hard to see the Netflix show incorporating that twist for comedic and erotic effects. Besides, Geralt could use a new sword in the show, and the Lady of the Lake has plenty to give.

NOT PRINCESS ADDA

You have to wonder what the writers of the first Witcher game were thinking with this one. Princess Adda was the Striga which Geralt helped un-curse in the books and the show. The first game made it so that Geralt can check up on Princess Adda again and what she's doing as a normal human... and he also gets to have sex with her. Not only would that be unethical for a witcher but also quite disturbing since Adda was but a mere wild child when Geralt first lifted the curse. Thankfully, since the show is not going to follow the books, we're not going to see a reunion between Geralt and Adda; Yennefer should be enough if Geralt wanted a monstrous relationship partner.
