10 Original PlayStation Games We Want To See On The PS5

The original PlayStation is a gaming console that was released in 1994 in Japan and in 1995 in the rest of the world. The original is a gaming console that was released in 1994 in Japan and in 1995 in the rest of the world. This console was on the market through 2006 when it was discontinued and a ton of really good games were released on this console. In fact, a lot of popular franchises even had their start on the original PlayStation. We don't know a ton about Sony's upcoming PS5 just yet, but we do know that it's coming. There's been a lot of speculation about what franchises will see a new game on the upcoming and while we don't know yet, there are quite a few games that we hope will be on the console when it comes out. Among all the new sequels we want to see, there are some games from the original PlayStation that deserve to be brought to the current generation, either in a remake or in its original form through emulation. To see 10 original games we hope to see on the PS5, keep reading! THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Tomb Raider II

Tomb Raider II is the second game in the Tomb Raider series. It was released in 1997 on the original PlayStation and was also ported to Mac and PC for people that prefer not to play on consoles. The game, like the others in the Tomb Raider franchise, in order to hunt down an ancient artifact. Although there have been more Tomb Raider games released over the years, it's always fun to revisit the games that really started a franchise. The first Tomb Raider game, which was also released on the PlayStation as well as other consoles like the Sega Saturn, was fun but if any of them are going to be brought to a modern console, we hope it's the second one.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a tile-matching puzzle game for one or two players that was released on the PlayStation in 1996 after originally being released as an arcade title. This game has players compete against each other by matching colored blocks and dropping their "garbage" blocks on the other players' play field. An HD remake of the game was added to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, meaning that it can also be played on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, or PlayStation 3, along with the other retro consoles that it was released on. Still, we hope it gets put on the PS5 in some form.

Dino Crisis

Dino Crisis is the first game in the Dino Crisis franchise and was released on the PlayStation in 1999. It was also released on PC and the Sega Dreamcast and was created by some members of the team that gave us the original Resident Evil games. This game is a 3D survival horror game that is set in 2009 on an island known as Ibis Island. Tom, an agent of the Secret Operation Raid Team, is set to Ibis Island in order to investigate a research facility there and learns that a scientist there has been secretly doing some pretty horrible experiments there.

Silent Hill

Silent Hill is the first game in the survival horror series by the same name. This game was released on the original PlayStation in 1999. The game follows a man named Harry Mason who stumbles upon a mysterious cult as he explores the foggy town of Silent Hill in search of his daughter. Silent Hill HD Collection was released as a remastered version of the second and third games in the series on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but we've been left without the first game in the series on modern consoles. Whether it's a remastered or remade version of the game or just the original game, having this game on PS5 .

Darkstalkers 3

Darkstalkers 3 was released in arcades and on the original PlayStation in 1997 and 1998, respectively. This game is the second sequel to Capcom's fighting game Darkstalkers, a game that was released in 1994 and has been ported to multiple consoles over the years. This game is a round-based fighting game that has quite a roster of characters. It's similar to other fighting games in that it uses a damage system to name a winner in each round. This game was remastered and released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, but only on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so we're still hoping that it will come back for the PS5.

Oddworld Abe s Oddysee

Oddworld Abe s Oddysee is a platforming game that was released on the PlayStation in 1997 and the Game Boy in 1998. In 2014, a "remake" of the game that mostly has the same gameplay elements as the original called Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! was released. Still, we hope that the original version of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee finds its way onto the PS5. In this 2D platforming-style game, players control Abe. There are a variety of different things that players have to do in the game, including avoiding enemies and solving puzzles as he makes his way through the world.

Driver You Are The Wheelman

If you're into driving-based action games, Driver: You Are the Wheelman is definitely a game that you have to check out. This game came out in 1999 on the PlayStation and was ported to other systems like the Game Boy Color and iOS over the years, but not onto any modern consoles. This game is set in four different cities and has players control NYPD officer and former racecar driver John Tanner as he goes undercover in these different cities in order to solve a crime.

Grand Theft Auto

As far as the lineup for the PS5 goes, many fans are already thinking about sequels to their favorite franchises. Among them, the that fans are waiting to see on the next generation of consoles. While we're also excited to see a new Grand Theft Auto game on the PS5, we also think it could be fun to return to the classics. The first Grand Theft Auto game was released in 1997 on PC and was later ported to the PlayStation in the same year and the Game Boy Color in 1999. While GTA V is now known for its incredible graphics, the top-down view of the original Grand Theft Auto is oddly charming and nostalgic.

Parasite Eve

Parasite Eve was released in 1998 on the PlayStation and is the first game in the Parasite Eve franchise. The last game in the series, The Third Birthday, was released in 2010 on the PSP, so it's definitely time for this series to be remade for modern consoles and brought to the PS5. Parasite Eve follows an NYPD officer named Aya as she spends a week trying to stop a woman named Eve from putting forth her plan to destroy humanity. The game is primarily an action game, but it blends in survival horror elements in a way that makes for a really unique and interesting game.

Legend Of Mana

Legend of Mana is an action-RPG that was released on the original PlayStation in 1999 in Japan and in 2000 in North America. This is the fourth game in the long-running Mana series, a series that released its first game in 1991 and its latest game in 2018 on a variety of consoles. This game is set in the world of Fa'Diel where the character completes quests and restores the Tree of Mana to bring happiness and prosperity back to Fa'Diel. Considering a new game for this series was released so recently, we definitely think it's time to remake this fan favorite from the franchise.
