Throughout the season, Jimmy Butler did not necessarily get along with the front office of the 76ers and the head coach Brett Brown. The head coach and the star's relationship took a turn for the worse when Brown decided to give the ball-handling duties to Ben Simmons, much to the displeasure of Butler. Simmons ran the offense throughout the season. The lack of clear authority around the franchise is the reason why Butler did not get along with the front office of the Philadelphia 76ers. Years later, he spoke about being "lost" during his time in Philly, during an episode on JJ Redick's podcast.
