Towerfall Ascension Is Free On Epic Today So Go Grab It

Towerfall: Ascension is Epic's second giveaway for the holiday season and is available right now! Epic Games is keeping the holiday spirit flowing by giving out another free game on the . takes the form of 2014's : Ascension. A multiplayer free-for-all battle game, Ascension is actually an updated re-release from the Ouya original (remember that console?). Along with all of the original content, it comes with an adventure mode, challenge rooms, and a ton of levels. The game even received an expansion pack called Dark World in 2015. Bringing even more levels and some new characters, that expansion is included in Epic's giveaway of the game. It doesn't massively increase the amount of content present but does feature a four-player boss battle mode and a cool, darker aesthetic. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Towerfall was pretty damn successful when it released, but developer Matt Makes Games would go on to create Celeste and put itself on the map. Celeste, herself, even wound up making a cameo in the recently released Switch port of the game. Sadly, she's not included in the PC version, though it's still worth grabbing if you love multiplayer brawlers. It's a hell of a deal, especially since the is going for $10. As for what else epic has in store, we can sort of glean some details from the above image. The first day specifically featured Towerfall's "T" from the logo. Today's looks like it has one of the polygonal guys from Superhot. That game isn't currently available on the Epic Games Store, but there's a chance it will be added tomorrow. It would certainly be a game worth grabbing as it's one of the best shooters of the decade. Even if it ends up being something else, this is a hell of a way for Epic to close out 2019. With free games coming from so many angles, it's almost entirely possible to wait for deals instead of buying anything.
