Fight The Traitors Together Is A Hit Chinese Mobile Game About Attacking Protesters

Fight the Traitors Together is a controversial game making its way across the internet that lets players attack peaceful Hong Kong protestors. A new highly controversial game called Fight the Traitors Together is gaining steam in China, as it allows players to attack protestors. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past half-year, you know what the political situation is currently like in Hong Kong. People are taking to the streets every day to protest for democracy and for the implementation of universal suffrage along with other things, such as the right for the protests to not be categorized as "riots." Although the protests initially started as a fight against plans to allow extradition to mainland China (because many feared that Hong-Kongers would undergo unfair trials), they quickly built up steam when the extradition bill was suspended indefinitely. The fear was that the bill might've been reintroduced if the protests stopped. Ultimately, the bill was withdrawn, but by that time, the protesters said that it was "too little, too late," and clashes with the police force increased. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY None of that has stopped the government of China from getting involved one way or another. Aside from allegedly sending military troops disguised as police officers over to Hong Kong, some mainlanders had enough of the protests - so much so that they released a mobile/browser game called Fight the Traitors Together in an effort to demonize and poke fun at the protesters' situation. scmp.com The source of the game is currently unknown, but it's clearly meant to look like a form of propaganda that encourages players to assault cartoon versions of the Hong Kong protesters. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg. Fight the Traitors Together also notably includes cartoon versions Martin Lee Chu-ming and Joshua Wong Chi-fung who are Hong Kong activists, along with other prominent activists and leaders of the protests whom players can also fight against. There's also propaganda against the west. In the game, there are western-looking characters who offer the protesters large sums of money to go and kill police officers as well as themselves in return. As stated earlier, the source of the game is unknown, but it does have its own . One interesting thing to note is that although there is no confirmation that the game is sponsored/connected to the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the game was immediately reported by the country's state-run Global Times despite having very little presence online at the time. We don't know about you, but that sounds pretty fishy to us. Source:
