Microsoft Store Listing Points To Vanquish Bayonetta Remasters For Xbox One

Some recent Microsoft store listings have pointed to both Vanquish and Bayonetta getting Xbox One remasters. It seems as though the Xbox One is about to receive a pair of Platinum Games classics. Late last night, a pair of listings for both and appeared on the Microsoft store with listings for the Xbox One. Among the details were support for One X (i.e. 4K resolution), cloud saving, and mention of 60 FPS playback. If that weren't enough confirmation, a of both games also appeared on the store. Titled the "10th Anniversary Bundle," it looks like Platinum Games is remastering each title to commemorate Vanquish's 10th anniversary. is already 10 years old, but the titles have a release date listed as February 18, 2020. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY This likely isn't an entirely new remaster effort, though. Both of the titles came to Steam in 2017 after years of being console exclusives. Those specific versions had very much the same features that these new ports will, minus Xbox Live achievements. It's curious that these remasters even exist as both games are currently backward compatible with Xbox One. Maybe Platinum is offering them up as definitive ports for interested fans. Via: CGMagazine Even if these ports are unnecessary, both Bayonetta and Vanquish are critical and fan darlings. Platinum Games has made a reputation for itself by delivering high-quality experience and these two titles filled a void in the seventh console generation. With basically every shooter being a dour, self-serious military romp and Capcom basically giving up on Devil May Cry, it was up to Platinum to shake things up. Bayonetta came from the mind of Hideki Kamiya, creator of Devil May Cry. Marrying the insanity of that series with a story baked in witchcraft lore, it spawned a character that has somehow made her way into Nintendo's stable of characters. Talk about crossing over! Vanquish, on the other hand, took the Gears of War cover shooter concept and injected it with anime zaniness. Hearkening back to the days of arcade games, it was a fast-paced, score-chasing game that demanded and rewarded precision over everything else. It's not for everyone, but the shooter really is a remarkable feat. As noted above, you won't need to wait for these remasters if you have an Xbox One, but it's always nice to see games freed from the technical constraints of their respective platforms. Source: , ,
