Arena Shooter Demon Pit Hits Consoles This Month

Arena shooter Demon Pit will be heading to consoles later this month. Publisher that indie arena shooter Demon Pit will be heading to consoles this month. Coming to PS4 on December 17 (December 18 in Europe), Xbox One on December 24, and Switch on December 25, the shooter is similar in vein to Devil Daggers with a more Quake-like aesthetic. It's been available on PC since this October, though Steam reviews are pretty limited in scope. Still, if you have an interest in classic, retro shooters, Demon Pit looks solid enough. More focused around withstanding an endless wave of foes, the game doesn't share much in common with games like Amid Evil or Ion Fury. This is more the "Horde Mode" from Gears of War, just with 90s styled movement and weapon choices. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY On PC, the game goes for $8.99 on Steam. It's reasonable to expect that the console versions will be the same price. There doesn't seem to be any console specific content, though Xbox One X owners can play the game in 4K. Switch will, expectedly, have portability as a feature. While I'm typically on top of retro shooters, Demon Pit has mostly flown under the radar for me. As noted, there hasn't been much in the way of response on Steam. Players enjoy it, but the sample size is fairly low. With its budget pricing, Demon Pit might be perfect for an impulse buy. If it truly is like Devil Daggers, then it will be incredibly addicting. That particular game had a limited scope, but its dark aesthetic and lightning-fast movement evoked an arcade atmosphere. It was hard to put down, even if it only took 10-minutes to see everything on offer. Demon Pit looks to be a bit more versatile. Copying retro shooters, Demon Pit has seven different weapons, a cast of 10 enemy variations, and a constantly shifting arena. There's even traversal options for maneuvering away from threats. It's much more than a floating hand shooting out endless amounts of daggers. It might be disappointing that Switch fans have to wait longer than everyone else, but at least the game isn't far off. Make sure to keep on eye on your digital store of choice for when Demon Pit finally arrives. Source:
