Five Nights At Freddy s AR Game Now Available Brings Your Nightmares To Life

A Five Nights at Freddy's AR game now exists, and it does a surprisingly great job at bringing the series' horror to mobile gaming. Five Nights at Freddy's has a mobile game now. To some that will sound like the companies involved in the franchise trying to milk it for all it's worth. And that's probably true. But it also turns out that actually looks like a cool game. For one, it seems like the story of this AR mobile game is actually canon. By downloading the app and starting the game, we subscribe to Fazbear Entertainment’s “Fazbear Funtime Service.” This service will bring Freddy and friends to our homes for fun. Except things go terribly wrong, as they always do with Fazbear Entertainment. The animatronics stalk Fazbear Funtime Service subscribers and attack them. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY That leads to the second promising thing about Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery. It uses the mechanics of AR games to honor the source material. The game has 3D sound, and each animatronic has its own unique animations and sounds for when it comes at you. Players are given limited resources (like flashlight batteries and shock power) to fend them off. But in a nice mobile game addition, you collect/buy parts to make your own animatronic and send it after friends. Finally, and perhaps the greatest thing about the game, is that the trailer canonizes Markiplier as an actual Fazbear Entertainment spokesperson. The Five Nights at Freddy's series has long since fallen from its station of pop culture dominance. Creator Scott Cawthon kept adding more layers of confusing lore to justify new games. The fandom built up every new development as the next great revelation, ensuring subsequent products could never live up to the hype. Spin-off products keep coming out (there's still that movie in development) even though few are asking for them. A mobile game now seems ill-timed. Even so, Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery looks like it warrants a download. It keeps things creepy and minimalistic while also adding a fun new mechanic. The Markiplier cameo is also a nice gesture to let fans know the game is in good hands. FNAF will never be what it was, but at least we get a neat AR game out of the deal. Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery is now available on both iOS and Android. Source:
