Fire Emblem Ranking Every Byleth Outfit

Through DLC, Fire Emblem's Byleth now has many different outfits to rock on the daily. Today, we're going to take a look and see which are the best. When first launched, Byleth was a very uncustomizable, unconnectable, somewhat unfeeling, silent protagonist. This is all still very true, but now you can dress them up! Whether you're playing as male or female Byleth, you now have seven different outfits to choose to wear into battle, or just around the monastery. It allows players to put a little personal touch on Byleth, which is never a bad thing. Today, we're going to be taking a look at all of these outfits and ranking them. But before we jump into it, there are two honorable mentions that we need to give a quick shoutout to. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Honorable Mentions Cape And Glasses

Byleth comes with a few accessories that no other unit in the game gets access to. The first accessory that can be toggled on and off is Byleth's cape, which is only available on a small selection of outfits. This outfit allows you to choose whether or not you'd like Byleth's cape to billow behind him in the wind as you run around. The second accessory is GLASSES! WOW! Glasses can be worn with any of Byleth's outfits, and help to make Byleth look like an actual teacher to some degree. These are able to be worn both in and out of battle, and can dress up any attire that Byleth chooses to don quite nicely.

Loungewear

The loungewear is... ugly. It looks better on Byleth than the rest of the kids because of the black color, but that still doesn't make it good. The nice thing is that no one is going to be wearing the loungewear , because Rhea would absolutely NEVER allow that. Rhea is the caring wife that is not going to let her husband out of the house looking like that. The husband is the entire Officers Academy staff and student body.

Servants Attire

Is this not the most cursed image that you've ever seen in your entire life? Absolutely fantastic. The servants attire differs greatly between the genders. The male servants attire is awful. There's literally a towel floating on their wrist that just doesn't move because physics didn't exist in medieval times. The female servants attire, on the other hand, is great. It is truly the most stereotypical maid outfit that has ever existed. Gigantic, poofy skirt, ridiculous hat, all of it. It's fantastic. The reasoning that the servants attire is so low on the list is specifically because of the male variant. It drags the female version down considerably.

Base Outfit

Byleth's standard outfit is, pretty good. It's a middle of the list kind of child. The thing is though, the differences between male and female Byleth's outfit are kind of wild. Male Byleth's outfit is befitting of a mercenary. It's dark, armored, and besides a cape for no reason, is pretty practical. Female Byleth, on the other hand, has a midriff-heavy top and fishnet leggings, as most mercenaries wear. It's just, kind of weird in a not so great way. It's a cool design, but it just doesn't really fit being a mercenary. We need gender parity. Give male Byleth a midriff you cowards.

Officers Academy Uniform

The Officers Academy uniform sees Byleth wearing the exact same clothes as their students, as all teachers do. As with all of the outfits, male and female Byleth differ slightly, with female Byleth donning a skirt, as opposed to male Byleth's pants. This outfit is fun, and both genders rock it well. Male Byleth even gets a little hat, so that's a nice bonus. This outfit also allows you to choose whether or not to wear a cape with it, and you know what? Good. Don't we all want the option of whether or not we're wearing a cape every time that we pick out an outfit?

Evening Wear

Evening wear Byleth is no casual Byleth. This outfit sees both genders dressing up a little bit, but unfortunately, women pants clearly weren't invented at this point because yeah still none of those anywhere to be seen. Evening wear is something that you'd wear to a formal event, while also making sure that you're stuntin' on every other person that's there. It's nothing too crazy, but it's nice and sensible, enjoyable overall. However, we're still not at the top of the list, we've got two great outfits left.

Summer Wear

Summer wear is top-tier and that is absolutely final. Summer wear Byleth is truly just having the time of their life. There's absolutely no war that has been going on for five years. Not one at all. Nope. None. Crazy, right? Byleth actually just went to a picnic, that's how grand their life is going. Not a care in the world. For some reason, female Byleth decided that it would be a nice idea to go to said picnic in knee-high boots but is there ever an occasion that isn't fit for knee-high boots? See. Point made. Summer wear almost topped this list, but we recently got a new update to Three Houses that changes everything.

Sothis Regalia

How absolutely MANIC is this? Sothis Regalia gives Byleth the esteemed privelage of dressing up exactly like Sothis for absolutely no reason at all. Can you imagine seeing your teacher walking around campus in this? Who made this outfit for Byleth? This is one of the costumes that is very similar between the genders, save for a little more chest on the female version. Either way though, male Byleth is serving some LEG. Can you imagine to Sothis in this? Or, you know... wearing this? The sheer absurdity that is this outfit was enough to propel it directly to the top of the list. Even when we get new outfits through DLC, is there anything in the world that can top Sothis Regalia? The answer is a resounding no. Stay up top where you belong, forever.
