Persona 5 10 Works Of Makoto Fan Art That We Love

Makoto is one of the most popular characters in Persona 5. With that comes tons of creative fanmade art by outstanding artists. A lot of Persona 5 fans argue that Makoto is Joker's canon romance for various reasons, and that has made her a popular character. She is the fourth character to join the main party and it is actually her sister who interrogates Joker for his investigation that narrates most of the story. Makoto is a star student and class president. She has a lot of pressure in life and thus, is one of the more serious characters. She also arguably has the coolest design for her persona, which is a motorcycle. Here are ten pieces of Makoto fan art we loved. Please check out the links to the artists as well. Full Portrait

is a very talented artist. Besides Persona 5, they have also done fan art for Final Fantasy, Nier: Automata, League of Legends, One Punch Man, The Justice League, The Avengers, Gundam, and so much more. Apparently, the artist only intended to make this piece as practice for portraits. The final version is amazing and looks like it belongs in a Persona museum. They also made a bloody faced version of the same portrait as well that can be viewed on their Instagram and ArtStation accounts.

Dancing Queen

While the artist watermarked their name on this art, we could not find their page because it does not appear to exist anymore. However, this art was found on Pinterest and we wanted to share it because it shows Makoto in a different outfit. This outfit wasn't made up by the artist but is actually from a game. It is from Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight. It is not a role-playing game like Persona 5, but a rhythm game!

Fighting Makoto

Made by , this art shows Makoto in her persona outfight with her weapons and mask. Of all the outfits in persona, it is Makoto's armor that looks the most battle-ready and intimidating. Her angry red eyes definitely add to its overall dark theme as well. Other characters this artist has drawn include Zelda from The Legend of Zelda, Blue Diamond from Steven Universe, Mercy from Overwatch, and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.

Taking Aim

Besides their base weapons, all of the main characters get their own kind of gun. Makoto has both brass knuckles and what appears to be a Colt SAA revolver. This line-art is gorgeous and looks like a professional portrait within the game, so kudos to the artist, He has done a lot of other pieces on Persona 5 as well as fan art for Nier: Automata, Fire Emblem, Danganronpa, The Witcher, Devil May Cry, and more.

Johanna

Makoto's persona, Johanna, is based on Pope Joan. Pope Joan went against tradition for all popes to be male. There is not actually proof the woman existed, but her story is very cool. Making her a motorcycle design is very strange but it is pretty awesome. The pose Makoto is making may seem familiar because it was inspired by the anime film, Akira. The artist for this piece is . They have also done fan art of Fire Emblem, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid.

Sitting At Desk

This art was done by . As mentioned before, a lot of fans consider Makoto as the canon romance the game. This is partly because she stalks Joker for a while and when frightened, she also clings to him. Obviously, this artist believes in Makoto x Joker due to the love letter Makoto has. The artist has done a lot of female character art such as Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service, Tohru from Fruits Basket, Aerith from Final Fantasy, Zelda from The Legend of Zelda, Rosalina from Mario, and Mercy from Overwatch.

Masked

does beautiful character profiles. Besides original characters, he has also drawn characters from Fire Emblem, Scooby Doo, Nier, and Overwatch. If you listen to a lot of banter in Mementos, you actually learn that Makoto does not like her persona outfit. She doesn't like her mask and she complains about her skintight suit. Honestly, that is not surprising. She has an introverted personality and prefers to take herself more seriously. Despite what she may think, she looks cool. The artist especially made her red eyes striking in this image.

Tekko

The weapon Makoto wields is not actually brass knuckles. They are called tekko, which originated in Okinawa. It is a martial arts weapon. While that may seem like a bizarre choice for Makoto, her entire persona outfit is her opposite self. We may be reading into it too deeply, but there is a lot to think when it comes to her post-apocalyptic biker aesthetic. In the apocalypse, who you were does not matter anymore. Her slate is wiped clean. Tekko, the Japanese weapons, may also be a callback to the fact that she fits the Japanese ideal of a smart, studious, and ambitious student who is class president. The artist for this piece is and they have also done fan art for Kingdom Hearts, Overwatch, and Pokémon.

With Joker

This art was done by . We do not know why they drew Makoto as a catholic with a gun and Joker as a vampire, but it sure looks cool. Maybe it is all a symbol of how Makoto tried to be what adults wanted her to be and through meeting Joker, she realized she did not want to live by other people's desires and instead live as her own person.

Mask Off

The artist for this piece is, unfortunately, unknown. Makoto looks so pretty and hopeful in this picture. It looks like she is taking her mask off to see something more clearly. The warm colors give off the feeling of a fire or sunset. The motion conveyed in her hair is gorgeous. A lot of fan art draws her eyes as angry, so it is nice to see her relaxed.
