10 Video Games Of The 2010s We Regret Buying
The 2010s were home to some fantastic games, but they had their fair share of disappointments too. Today, we'll go over ten we wish we hadn't bought. We're coming to the end of possibly the most impactful decade in video game history. The realization that anything is possible has opened up the possibility for cross-platform compatibility and 4K resolution games at 60 frames per second. Video games not only play in 3D, but do so much more. With all that said, the previous decade wasn't perfect. The painstaking bugs we've seen in the past decade prevent many games from reaching their potential. Developers are releasing an abundance of half-baked games that are later saved by updates. There is no excuse for releasing an unfinished game. In retrospect, we can see why games failed and learn for the future. These are 10 video games of the 2010s we regret buying. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Star Wars Battlefront
In a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars Battlefront might be a good game, but in this galaxy, it is lackluster. A multitude of reasons can explain why doesn't meet expectations. Playing Battlefront's most popular mode, Conquest, one can play several matches without becoming a hero or a villain. The token system is a step down from 2005's Star Wars Battlefront II. and only an outcry from the community forced EA's hand to add the mode. Also, with most of the game's content available through costly DLC, it's a game that many wished they hadn't bought. Resident Evil 6
Despite having a lackluster release in the eyes of Capcom, Resident Evil 6 managed to sell more than 4.9 million copies. For many gamers, this 2012 release came as a frustration. Resident Evil 6's pitfalls are due to its action-focused combat and not its survival mechanics. It strays from the series' premise, which was already famous. Also, the save points were spaced out too far. Resident Evil 6 has its moments, like the fight between Leon and Chris. Nevertheless, the game falls short on so many levels. For these reasons, it belongs on this list. Battlefield 4
Although the online multiplayer of isn't terrible, the game is like something half-baked out of the oven. Most of the game's content is unlocked through paid DLC, but that alone is not why the game makes this list. The main reason why Battlefield 4 is such a big disappointment is because of its single-player campaign. The campaign has a bug that causes your game's save data to erase. This makes it impossible to beat Battlefield 4's campaign—unless you play it in one or two sittings. Instead of fixing the game, Electronic Arts decided to abandon the project. The Division
The Division 2 is a significant improvement over its predecessor because it did more than copy the original game. The Division 2 adds new locations, a more advanced loot system, and an improved endgame loop. The first The Division game isn't quite as spectacular as the second. Some of the ideas that went into The Division are not as fully-fledged as the sequel. The missions are repetitive, despite the game looking gorgeous. The game is a cluttered mess, and it's a game that many regret buying. Assassin s Creed Unity
Assassin s Creed Unity was Ubisoft's attempt at giving one of the most highly acclaimed video game franchises online functionality. Players could complete missions in online co-op, which adds depth to the game. Unfortunately, Assassin s Creed Unity was all cinematic appeal with very little substance. The lack of mission variety holds the game back from reaching its potential. The missions are too easy and offer very little replay value. Bugs and glitches are abundant throughout Unity. The city is beautiful at times, but its lack of enemy variety and shallow missions make it a disappointment. Crackdown 3
As one of the most anticipated games of 2019, Crackdown 3 was in development for a considerable amount of time. Crackdown 3's developers made bold promises for the IP, saying that the game would be so advanced that the PlayStation 4 couldn't run the game. Although that may be true, Crackdown 3's cloud computing is limited to one multiplayer mode. The game showcased the advanced capabilities of a console, but ultimately, the gameplay wasn't what we hoped. Fallout 76
Bethesda Softworks hasn't given up on its 2018 online action role-playing game. The developers at Bethesda plans to release several massive updates to fix Fallout 76's bugs and add more content. Fallout has been a single-player game since the beginning of the series, so it was expected that Fallout 76 would have a rocky start. Bethesda may update Fallout 76 to a point where it's enjoyable, but for now, a significant number of players wish they hadn't bought the game. WWE 2K20
One of the biggest disasters of the 2010s has shocked fans. We are, of course, referring to WWE 2K20 As a game that was supposed to pave the way for a new decade of games, it doesn't do the series justice. The online multiplayer is a hot mess. While playing online, you may encounter other players with identical characters and outfits. They could have added markers, which is lazy on the part of its developers. 2K Games is not perfect when it comes to releasing polished games. WWE 2K20 is a failed sequel, and graphically, it shows little improvement. No Man s Sky
According to , No Man's Sky's player base dropped 90% in less than two weeks. This dramatic drop in players stems from the failed promises of its developers. It was missing multiplayer, extraterrestrial animals, space combat, and several other features. To the credit of developer Hello Games, they've released several substantial updates that have revamped the game. Today, many people would agree that No Man s Sky is a quality game. Despite its improvements, it's hard to overlook its unsuccessful launch. Mass Effect Andromeda
Players have the highest expectation when it comes to their favorite franchises, so it's a letdown to see Mass Effect in its current state. Mass Effect 3 has its flaws, but it looks like a masterpiece in comparison to Mass Effect Andromeda. In cutscenes, Andromeda's characters are robotic. The continuity of the game becomes broken because of its dull acting. How we went from Commander Shepard to the protagonist in the above photo is perplexing. Mass Effect Andromeda had good ideas like the all-terrain Nomad vehicle, yet it's hard to overlook its dull missions and subpar combat.
