Becoming a Jedi Master is more than just wielding a lightsaber. Use these 10 great tips to become an overpowered Jedi in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order allows you the opportunity to become a Jedi. The combat, while nothing outstanding, is a pretty good depiction of lightsaber combat in video games we’ve received in a while. This alone isn’t what makes a Jedi though. Becoming a Jedi takes more than just utilization of the force and flashy lightsaber moves. It’s about the mastery of those tools. It’s pretty understood now that Fallen Order is a pretty challenging game. You, as the player, must meet those challenges through the mastery of your abilities. So, here are a few tips to help you become a powerful Jedi. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Practice
Let’s just get this out the way now. If you came here looking for an easy route, you’re not going to find it, youngling. That’s not what this game is. More importantly, that's not what the Jedi path is about. Fallen Order largely rewards you with a feeling of being overpowered through the use of tactics and smart execution. The only way you can truly get to that point is through a solid amount of practice. This list can help point you in the right direction to put you in favorable situations against various enemies, but ultimately, OP-ness isn’t given to you like Rey or Starkiller. It’s earned. Familiarize Yourself With Your Abilities
Pretty obvious, yes, but the fundamentals are important. You can’t really be a Jedi without knowing your toolset. So, get acquainted with all of your abilities first. Familiarizing yourself with everything will help you get a better idea of what is and what isn’t useful in any given situation and allow you to adjust promptly to different threats. The game never throws anything at you that you can’t handle at any given moment with the tools you have at your disposal. Knowledge and understanding what’s useful to you in different scenarios to suit your playstyle is important. Be Proactive
A good amount of troopers and normal-sized enemies in the game are relatively slow. If they’re melee-oriented enemies that require them to close the distance between them and you, you can take that opportunity to use a Force-intensive move to take an early advantage and quickly thin the herd before you’re overwhelmed. Hunting down long-range enemies swiftly is also in your best interest as well. Defense is important, but when against a group, being defensive can result in you getting boxed into a corner rather quickly. Make sure you balance the defense with a solid offense and don’t stop moving. Know Your Enemies Weaknesses
Fallen Order is all about knowing how enemies work and how to exploit them. When you have this information and put it to good use, a lot of enemies in the game practically become trivial. Some enemies just need a well-timed parry to one-shot them. Others might need a few in a row. Some take more damage to a specific body part, making outmaneuvering them key. While others just take a simple and well-timed Force move to take down. You can find all of this in the game’s informative tactical guide. Use The Environment
Fights in Fallen Order often give you ways to use Force powers outside the box or to engage enemies from different angles. Some maps allow you to sneak attack enemies from a high ground vantage point. Other times, fights might take place near the edge of a cliff, allowing you to Force push enemies over the edge. Your options are pretty simple and sometimes painfully obvious in some regards, but taking advantage of them can end some fights before they even start while giving you a rewarding sense of outmaneuvering them. Vary Your Defenses
As it’s common with most games featuring multiple defensive maneuvers, it can be easy to fall into the habit of heavily utilizing one over the other. Some prefer to overuse evasion moves while others don’t mind relying on blocking too much. Neither of these methods work perfectly alone though, youngling. Blocking too much runs the risk of your block stamina running down quickly while dodging too much can make you antsy and result in you taking damage when mistimed. You also miss out on the other’s unique counterattack opportunities when underutilized. Don t Mash
Fallen Order is very much a third-person game at its core. While it does leave room for button-mashing here and there, it’s a much better option to make sure each of your button-presses are deliberate more often than not. This is because Fallen Order makes a conscious effort to make sure you commit to every action whether it is a lightsaber strike or a Force move. When you perform certain maneuvers, the animation has to finish before you can perform another action. Thus, getting down the rhythm and timing for moves can be beneficial. Don t Get Greedy
In addition to deliberate button inputs, be sure not to bite off more than you can chew, especially against larger enemies that take less hit stun from basic attacks. Specific enemies are more than capable of super-armoring through some of your strikes to catch you off guard if you aren’t careful. Some others can dodge out of the way to counter-attack you as well. Expect these things to happen and adjust accordingly. If you get too greedy when taking your opportunity to attack, higher-tier enemies have the means to punish you for it. Use Force Slow To Take Your Turn Back
One-on-one fights are where Fallen Order shines the most. In these fights, Force Slow can be your best friend. The trick is to know when to utilize the ability. Using it as a way to steal your offensive opportunities back once your opponent is ready to retaliate is a good way to get some extra damage in. On larger enemies, it’s useful to line up heavy saber attacks that do more reliable hit stun after they hit and also to safely respond to attacks from your opponent once baited out. In some cases when chained correctly, this can end some fights before they even really start. Stay Centered
Your path to becoming a Jedi will be filled with many trails, some you may or may not be prepared for. Some enemies may do some things that you might find cheap. You might accidentally fling yourself off the map a few times. You might even find yourself wanting to give up. The most important tip a Jedi can internalize is to always stay centered and focused in the face of some adversity. If you can do that, youngling, then no opponent will be able to stop you from becoming a powerful Jedi that they should all fear.
