Re-imagining two classic maps from previous installments in the franchise, Battlefield V's newest mission sequences are taking players to both Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm. Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm aren't the only new additions, as a whole new map is being brought to the roster in December, called Wake Island. Chapter 5 will introduce all-new weapons, battle pickups, vehicles, and challenges. Two of the more popular featured battle pickups are the flamethrower and katana, both of which are iconic armaments of World War II. The new vehicles look fantastic, sporting the Japanese LVT and Ka-Mi Light Amphibious tanks, as well as the American's Sherman Calliope. Even aircraft, such as Fighter and Bomber variants of the US F4U Corsair and the Japanese Zero Fighter, are dive-bombing into the new update. Jack Culver and Keisuke Nakamura will also be introduced to players as brand-new elites with specific melee weapons and cosmetic variations. Though the game has faced some serious repercussions after a rocky pre-release period and limited attention following its debut, longtime fans will certainly flock to experience this historical battle between Japan and the US. From the addition of Firestorm to the reintroduction of classic Battlefield maps, the game continues to reassert itself in the industry.
