Finnish in-game leader Aleksib has turned down a $1 million offer to join Complexity Gaming's CS:GO team as he wants to remain in Europe. Former ENCE CS:GO in-game leader Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen has reportedly turned down a $1 million offer from Complexity Gaming. Aleksib was removed from the active ENCE roster shortly before the StarLadder Berlin Major. He played with the squad in Berlin, where they were eliminated by Renegades in the quarter-finals. He has since been in talks with both Complexity and 100 Thieves. via StarLadder According to a from Richard Lewis, Complexity CEO Jason Lake offered the Finnish in-game leader a deal that would have made him one of the world's highest paid professional CS:GO players. Counter-Strike journalist Jarek "DeKay" Lewis also reported that Lake flew to Helsinki, Finland, to meet with Aleksib in person. The deal would have included luxury housing and access to one of the best esports training facilities in the world, along with an extremely high monthly salary. However, Aleksib would have been required to move across the globe to use the Complexity training center in Frisco, Texas. This prevented him from taking the deal. Aleksib has instead been with 100 Thieves, another American esports organization that would potentially allow him to stay in Europe. 100 Thieves their plans to return to Counter-Strike earlier this year. Lake called specifically for tier 1 players, and vowed to give them "the world's highest salaries." The Complexity organization is backed by the Dallas Cowboys, making a $1 million deal well within reach. ENCE revealed their decision to replace Aleksib in August, and he was officially moved to the bench in September. The Finnish leader has been teamless since, though has been rumored to be in talks with a number of organizations. ENCE has struggled in Aleksib's absence, finishing in 5th place at both BLAST Pro Series Moscow and ESL One New York. Earlier this week, they were eliminated in 9-12th place at the ongoing DreamHack Masters Malmö. Prior to Aleksib's departure, the Finnish squad won both StarSeries Season 6 and BLAST Pro Series Madrid. They placed second at DreamHack Masters Dallas, IEM Chicago, and the IEM Katowice Major. Following Aleksib's rejection, Complexity turned to Heroic in-game leader Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and ex-Cloud9 star Will "RUSH" Wierzba to fill the roster. Their LAN debut will come at ESL Pro League Season 10, where they will first face off against Cloud9.
