Publisher Of The Iwata Book Issues Warning To Fan Translators Says English Version In The Works

The recent Satoru Iwata book may be getting an official localization, meaning those affiliated with the unofficial one might face legal repercussions. It seems that Iwata-san will be receiving an official English localization at some point (as well as versions in other languages), as the word is has been out for publishers to contact the creators of the book in order for it to be released overseas. Iwata-san is a book by Yasuda Nagata that combines numerous articles written by Iwata for both the Hobonichi and Nintendo website. The book also contains all of the "Iwata-asks" interviews, where he spoke to different developers about their classic projects and most recent releases. Iwata-san also contains interviews with prominent industry figures, such as Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi, who reminisce about their old friend and colleague. There is now an official international Twitter account for the book that will host any future announcements about the project. The prospect of a future international release of Iwata-san also means that any unofficial translations of the book will face legal action in the future. This was specifically mentioned in the message left by its creators. It seemed unlikely that Iwata-san would receive an English language release, but there has been enough interest from fans around the world to make it a possibility.
