PRESENTED BY One of the sloppiest games in college football history took place on Nov. 19, 1983. It was also the last time a major college football game ended in a scoreless tie. Oregon and Oregon State played to a 0-0 tie in heavy rain at Autzen Stadium in a game plagued by miscues. The teams moved the ball fairly well – they combined for a total of 583 yards – but the weather prevented both from holding onto the ball. The game featured a whopping five interceptions and 11 fumbles, as well as four missed field goals. Perhaps more incredibly the teams had two turnovers each in the game’s final three minutes. This game stands as major college football’s last tie and will likely remain that way. The NCAA adopted the overtime tiebreaker in 1996. Also on this day in college football history: Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III had quite the Heisman moment on Nov. 19, 2011. The future Washington Redskins quarterback threw an incredible 34-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams with eight seconds left to help his No. 22 Bears beat the No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners at McLane Stadium. The game marked Baylor's first win over Oklahoma after 20 consecutive losses. RGIII finished the day with 479 yards and four touchdowns; he would ultimately win the Heisman that season. Related:
