PRESENTED BY INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced today the team and individual qualifiers for the 2015 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships. In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals must qualify in their respective NCAA regions. Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven- person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large. Fifty-six individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting the championships, November 21, at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The women’s race will begin at Noon Eastern time followed by the men’s race at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time. In 2014, North Central (Illinois) won the men’s team championship, marking its 16th national title. They finished with 130 points, defeating defending champion St. Olaf, which finished with 143 points. On the women’s side, Johns Hopkins defeated MIT to win its third consecutive national championship. Johns Hopkins totaled 87 points to MIT’s 112. Individual honors went to Amy Regan of Stevens Institute of Technology, who won the individual title, finishing almost seven seconds ahead of Washington U. in St. Louis’ Lucy Cheadle. In the men’s championship, individual honors went to Grant Wintheiser of St. Olaf. Wintheiser finished six seconds ahead of Colin Cotton of Williams.
