May 31, 2021 The trend in college football is you either need to recruit at a lights-out level OR recruit pretty well and land that transcendent QB. It seems like Florida is banking on the latter strategy and counting on Dan Mullen to find/mold that QB. Do coaches feel like we have that QB on the roster now? Are we recruiting that type of QB? Advertisement — Matthew P. Advertisement Who do you think will start at wide receiver and tight end for the Gators this fall? — Jorge A. What’s up with Lorenzo Lingard? Five-star running back who was hoping to contribute and is rarely ever mentioned. What gives? — Kunwar S. Advertisement Any chance Florida lands the Marshall guard who just entered the transfer portal? That would really help the right side of our line. Scott N. How big of a jump do you think Mohamoud Diabate will make at linebacker next year? — David S. Who behind Brenton Cox is a realistic player for improvement. I really like Khris Bogle but don’t know if he’ll get the playing time to truly showcase that. If our offense plays at a similar level as last year, where do you see us needing to improve defensively? — Damien S. Which newcomers aside from Jason Marshall and Bowman will have the biggest impact this fall? Also, any word on how our new quarterbacks Carlos Del Rio-Wilson and Jalen Kitna progressed during spring? Are either of them legitimate candidates for the backup job? — Ryan R. Any recruits on commit watch in June? — Marquis W. What is taking so long for Mike White to fill his two vacant assistant coaching positions? I’m hoping against hope that White will hire an older veteran with D-I head coaching experience. Also, White said last week that it’ll be two or three months before Keyontae Johnson and his family will let the school know if he’s medically cleared to play next season. Doesn’t that put a valuable scholarship in limbo for White’s planning and recruiting purposes? — Chip N (Top photo of Dan Mullen and Kyle Trask: Steve Mitchell / USA Today)
