EA Drops New Apex Legends Animated Short

A new animated short just dropped to commemorate the start of Apex Legends’ new Voidwalker event, which gives us more info on Wraith. A brand new animated short just dropped to commemorate the start of ’ new Voidwalker event. The latest Apex Legends patch has brought us “Voildwalker,” a brand new event that focuses on everyone’s favorite teleporting assassin, Wraith. In keeping with the theme, EA and Respawn also created a new animated short to bring us all up to speed on Wraith’s origin story. However, before we get into that, a brief overview of what the. Wraith “woke up in an IMC Detention Facility for the Mentally Ill with no memory of her life before” and then decided that entering the Apex Games would be the best way to discover her past self. The voices she’d been hearing probably had something to do with that decision. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY Dark IMC research facilities also turned out to be buried beneath the Apex Arena, so it all turned out for the best. Well, except for the people Wraith fought. They wound up dead. It turns out, those voices aren’t just a schizophrenic symptom, but are actually just other versions of Wraith giving herself good advice - you know, stuff like “don’t forget to moisturize” and “kill that dude sneaking up behind you.” The video reveals a bunch of new information on Wraith, such as the fact that her real name is Renee Blasey, she's 27, and she's from the world of Typhon. She was apparently a research subject for some interdimensional void teleportation technology. She also has a mean roundhouse kick, which perhaps wasn't an ability showcased in-game. As the story unfolds, we find out that Wraith has the ability to not just teleport, but also view other realities and perhaps other timelines. She eventually winds up meeting her past self and helping her escape the IMC facility she'd been trapped in. We also find out how Wraith got her signature kunai heirloom as a gift from her future self, which seems a little recursive, but that's time travel for you. Check out the video above to see how it all ends, and the Voidwalker to learn how to unlock some sweet new Wraith-oriented gear. Hopefully, we’ll get more of these origin stories for someone other than Wraith. While she’s got a great story to tell, we’re all wondering where the heck Pathfinder came from and why he murders people for sport. Source:
