PRESENTED BY WILMINGTON, N.C. -- UNCW plated six runs combined in the seventh and eighth innings to overcome a 7-5 deficit for an 11-7 win in the nightcap and finish off a doubleheader sweep of nationally-ranked Maryland on Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks (9-3) remained perfect at Brooks Field with their ninth consecutive win at home and fourth overall. The Terrapins dropped to 7-4 with the pair of setbacks.

Trailing 7-6 in the eighth, UNCW loaded the bases when Robbie Thorburn's bunt single went unfielded. Luke Dunlap then tied the game, scoring on a wild pitch. Pinch hitter Zach Shields gave UNCW the lead one batter later with a sacrifice fly.

Whitman Barnes (1-0) earned his first collegiate win, giving the Seahawks three innings of one-hit, one-run relief.

UMD reliever Zach Morris (1-1) took the loss, allowing three runs, all unearned, in one inning on the mound.

Corey Dick led the Seahawks with two hits and three runs batted in, two coming off a fifth inning double off the right field wall. Gavin Stupienski knocked in two runs for UNCW.

Tim Lewis was the only Terp with a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4.

Maryland (6) and the Seahawks (4) combined for 10 errors in game two.

In the opener, William Shepley(2-0) tossed 2.1 innings of shutout relief for the win while Connelly collected three hits. Jordan Ramsey nailed down his third save, retiring the side in order in the ninth.

Reliever Robert Galligan (0-1) look the loss for Maryland while Brandon Lowe had three hits and drove in two runs.

The teams combined for five home runs in the opener.
