PRESENTED BY FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Nova Southeastern defeated Felician 9-0 on Tuesday night as Cameron Churchill, Zachary Westcott, and Devin Raftery combined to throw a no-hitter. The no-hitter marks NSU's first nine-inning no-hitter since March 5, 2007, when Jon Spier threw a complete-game no-hitter against Dominican. The from tonight's combined no-hitter! Churchill, Westcott and Raftery. — NSU Baseball (@NSU_Baseball) Churchill, making his third start of his career, allowed just four walks while striking out six in seven innings. Churchill kept the Felician offense off balance just long enough to hand the ball to Westcott, who was dominant in his one inning, throwing nine pitches to record three outs. Raftery came on to close the door, striking out two of the three batters he faced to complete the no-hitter. The Sharks (13-3) got on the board first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Mario Urdaneta got things started, smashing a ball off of the centerfield fence for a triple, his second of the season. Alexander Fernandez then singled, scoring Urdaneta. After advancing on a wild pitch, Fernandez scored on a single from Andres Visbal. Churchill kept the Golden Falcons' bats quiet and the offense continued to roll, scoring three more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Fernandez and Justin Garcia reached on fielding errors. Visbal and Michael Hernandez then walked, with Fernandez scoring on Hernandez's walk. Garcia and Hernandez scored on two wild pitches to give the Sharks a 5-0 lead. The Sharks tacked one more run in the fourth on a Garcia groundout to second base, scoring Urdaneta. NSU was not done there, adding two more runs a two-run home run from Garcia, his fourth of the year. The offense added one more run in the seventh.
