Cam Akers trade rumors
Cam Akers is out of the Rams' playing unit at the moment might have played his last snap as a member of the . Coach dropped a bombshell recently that is likely to send shockwaves all around the league. McVay announced that running back will not play this Sunday. It's not injury-related, either. Instead, the normally straightforward coach was pretty nondescript about Akers' future with the Rams, and that isn't the best sign for fans of the third-year running back. It is worthy of note that Akers went through a nightmare in the 2021 season with the Rams, as he missed all but one of his team's regular season games due to an Achilles injury. Nevertheless, he came back in time for the playoffs and contributed to their Super Bowl victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, the diminutive threat hasn't been so efficient this season, and it looks like the hour of reckoning has come. Cam Akers has had an average, at best, stats to start of the 2022 season. He has racked up 151 rushing yards and a mediocre one rushing touchdown in five games so far this season. Unfortunately, that won't cut it for a Rams team looking to repeat themselves as champs this season. Who could replace Cam Akers at the Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are not short of options to replace Cam Akers at the coveted RB1 spot. This position has both internal and external contenders to boot. One thing that McVay could do is look in-house for a running back option to take them to the promised land. He still has Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown on the active roster. Then there's Kyren Williams, who is on the injured reserve. All three options could bring a unique dimension to the Rams' offense, and properly utilizing them would negate the need for a new running back signing. Sean McVay could also look outwards by trading a star running back from another team. He could go for a few options around the league, but no one comes better recommended than Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers. That might do the trick, as the Panthers' sacking of Matt Rhule means they might be in a full-scale rebuild. Trading a few bench players and picks looks like a steal. Considering how good Christian McCaffrey is, it might be another masterstroke from the master tactician McVay. It was nice knowing you Cam AkersIt was nice knowing you Cam Akers
