The Houston Astros finished with the best record of anybody left, especially now that the NL lost the Dodgers and the Braves. It has seemed like a lock for a long time that the Astros will win the American League, and they're down to their final test. A series with the Yankees is all that stands between them and the World Series. The Yankees are entering the series with no rest while Houston has been rested for days. The advantage is clear and it could prove to be critical.

New York Yankees 260

The Yankees finally punched their ticket to the ALCS tonight with a statement win in Game 5 against Cleveland. The Yankees had to fight hard to get through this round, while Houston has been sitting at home and watching the games on TV. The Yankees put their pitching and batting struggles behind them before game 5, becoming their old selves again. The spark and momentum found in games 4 and 5 for New York will be a lot for Houston to extinguish as they're looking dangerous at the right time.

Philadelphia Phillies 280

The Phillies are the definition of coming alive at the right time. Bryce Harper earned every dollar in the postseason by leading the charge on offense and has been backed up by some dominant pitching. The Phillies have no walk in the park for the NLCS round, but they're checking all the boxes needed to win a World Series. They're on the road to the start of the NLCS, but we also gave the Phillies (plus money), but if they take the lead back to Philadelphia, these odds of winning the World Series will drop quickly.

San Diego Padres 420

The Padres entered the NLCS round as the last horse in the race. They have home-field advantage and an impressive path of destruction behind them in the post-season. The Dodgers and Mets both played terribly in their matchups against San Diego, and the Phillies have had to overcome a much higher quality performance. We have to assume that's why the odds are so much higher for them to win the World Series, but at +420, the Padres can do some damage if they win the first couple at home against Philadelphia.
